SeaDagon
I tried to follow the tutorial about changing the Fireball spell damage to get the feeling of modding Dragon Age, yet my mod stubbornly refuses to work. I followed the instructions to the letter (at least as much as I understood them) except that I changed the spell Arcane Bolt instead of Fireball (which means I used the Spell_Single_Target file instead of the Spell_Aoe_Instant). It failed even when I altered the core file (the one used by the game that one should avoid altering). Any ideas? Note that I am not a newbie in modding. I have edited many games, even ones that didn't had their own editing tools (made by the company or fans on the internet). Based on my experience, I think it is something simple, so simple that it may have been omitted from the tutorial. Any help would be appreciated. SeaDagon
Does anyone know where to find a good guide/tutorial for mod-making? The few that I have already seen, like the wiki, are useless because they are not made for individuals without experience on the Dragon Age Toolset. They assume that you already know some basic things, which is really dumb. You know, things like 'Go to Open File' and 'Choose xxxx'. I am mostly interested in altering the game mechanics since that is the easiest part of modding (in contrast to creating a new area).
SeaDagon
I kept trying for days to make changes appear in the game but I wasn't able to find a solution. No replies on my thread yet. I can't believe I am the only one experiencing this at the beginning. Any advice?
