Killians5
Although I would agree that this game makes me retreat a little more then i would like and gives me an overall feeling that i am somewhat panicing my way through a game that is visually unbelievable and i would like to sit back and look at and take more time with the small things that i dont have time or health to do. I would have to disagree with the fact that the creatures and daedra and what not shouldnt level up with you. I think rats and scamps and some other odd little creatures that don't have the intelect to "level up" by training or other means shouldn't level up, but while daedra are sitting in oblivion waiting to kick your butt dont you think they would be trying to get stronger? Don't you also think they would only send an army strong enough to take care of the mission at hand from their view? I think in alot of ways and 75% of the people getting angry about this (not all of them) were the same type who may have tried to abuse some of the little oddities that could make you a near god in morrowind. If I can pick between a game that i get hours of game play and challenges me at every corner, or a game that towards the end, its not if i can beat it but if i want to spend the time to beat it because i know i can walk in and kill everyone, I'll take the challenge. I never beat Morrowind not because i didnt absolutely love it, but because once i was level 32 what was the point? I think if you sit back and look at it, they did this game a great justice as far as real NPC's, put yourself as one of the NPC's your not gonna sit around waiting for someone to come kill you, if your in a position as a theif or bandit if your not stealing, rape, and pilaging your probably making it so that you can do your job better.......(not trying to flame any of the posters on this thread just giving a point of view)
DonEuclid
Beat the game as an Agent first (yeah, the actual diplo/assassin class) with no mods. Hard. Not super hard, but hard. Got really tired of running from those [censored] spider daedra - they can really ruin a bosmer's day. Am playing through again as a modified battlemage, and are using two mods in an attempt to moderate the insane leveling. The No Obsolete Enemies and Equipment mod, and the Arachnophobia mod all together make the game a bit more interesting. Sure, not every monster is uber now, but it can be pretty easy to run into an "easy" monster that turns out to be an eye-opener. Working together, Oblivion is a much more interesting place to visit now. Instead of masses of spiders at high level, you run into virtual armies of dremora, clannfear, and daedroth. Actually... it feels kind of like Morrowind in the Red Mountain region. Not a bad thing. :) Both mods available on this site, of course. Praise be to the admins and fileops.
