MoonMe2
After 200 + hours of rock-solid, stable gameplay, and 6 or 7 characters, now I get major lag/stutter durring most dialog scenes and after some combat. No changes for weeks leading up to the problem. Repeat: No changes for weeks (at least 3) leading up to the problem. Deep Optimized defraged thinking it might be file fragmentation. Still happens. Disable audio dialog: still happens. Updated the game: still happens. Reinstalled the game with and without saving save-game files. still happens. I don't experience any problems with any other game on my comp (20 some games), no problems. Any ideas? Edit: I tried a different mod, "Better Combat". It too, so far has shown signs that my game is messed up. Atribute distribution: giving 6 points every other level-up.
Balagor
Hi. This program can defrag/fix also the REG_KEY section.I don´t know if it will help, but it´s maybe worth a try? http://www.auslogics.com/en/pages/boost-speed/b/index.php It´s a 15 days free trial. Otherwise i don´t know what happend to your game.
MoonMe2
Thanks for reminding me about my registry Balagor. I did fix some errors and then defraged the registry but the problem still exists. Today I got Left4Dead 2 for Christmas, installed it and played a little. (It automatically installs with all settings at max) and it plays flawlessly. As do all my other games. (Well, Fallout 3 would CTD but that's better than stuttering and hanging up completely) Thanks again. Anyone else got any ideas?
MoonMe2
Well people, I believe I found the problem. (maybe). I was using a mod called "Console_-_Add_Points-347". It would allow you to add attributes through the console. But it also added two points for every point you would spend, every other level. Even if you removed the mod it would still give you two points. So far, I have not had any stuttering after a fresh install with only cosmetic mods (face morphs, clothes, etc). Why it took 3 weeks for the stuttering to start, I don't know. Will keep you all informed.
jwvanderbeck
This is caused by improperly built mods. See my blog post here:http://dragonagemodding.wordpress.com/2009...of-module_core/
MoonMe2
jwvanderbeck: although I am not a modder, I thank you for confirming what I suspected. Too bad it couldn't be fixed by uninstalling the mod. Thanks again. :thanks:
MoonMe2
Seems that any kind of game-play mod that I try screws up my attribute distribution. Gives me 6 points instead of 3. (Better Combat).Cosmetic mods work fine.
