Imperial Events and more Daedra Shrines

-----------------------Imperial Events---------------------

My first requests is an idea I got from a couple of other mods who had things like weekly and monthly market days, carnivals, and other contests. Basically, on different days in differnt towns, their will be events going on on a special holiday or set day. Holidays could include the death of Count Valga day in Chorrol, the closing of the Great Gate in Bruma, and the saving of Kvatch in Camp Kvatch (A patch could be provided to make it compatible with other Kvatch Mods). There could be national holidays too (Things like the ascension of Talos and Death of Martin Septim). Heck, even guilds could have holidays where they give away weapons and armor and give double pay. During these holidays, shops would be closed and everyone would be in the streets and outside the walls. Archery stalls and small stands would be all over, mabye even horse rides at the stables. All around the plaza would be vendors trying to sell their goods, some of them new NPCs, others ones from shops and guilds. I would also like to make this compatible with some of the mods that add kids, as I think that would help add to the expierience. Also, every town would have weekly market days where all the shop owners would set up stalls and sell their goods at discount prices. This would happen on a different day in some towns, while others would happen on the same day. Some towns would have farmers markets a couple times a year, where farmers from nearby villages, plantations, and farms would come and sell different delicacies. This would probaly require an advanced scripter and a couple of people to do NPCs and stalls. I myself can only offer some lore-freindly holidays.

 

-------------------More Daedric Shrines-------------------

I've been thinking about this one for a while. Really, all I want to do is create daedric shrines for Jygallag and Mehrunes Dagon, both with their own quests. I know Mehrunes had a shrine in the Lake Arrius Caverns and Carac Agiator, but both of those were destroyed, and I think some people would worship him without joining the Mythic Dawn. Jygallag is still a daedric prince, not exactly a well known one, but im sure people would still worship at his shrine. Mehrunes sacrifice could be a human heart or bloodgrass, while Jygallags could be a focus crystal thay can be found nearby in a cavern his followers direct you to. Mehrunes quest could be something like killing a group of blades who are searching for his shrine in order to kill his followers, while Jygallags could be something like killing a couple of conjurers who have been attacking his shrine or something... I'll try to come up with a better idea for that quest. I think we could use the vanilla statue of Dagon from Carac Agiator, but I don't recall seeing a statue of Jygallag in SI, so we might need a modeler (That would probaly work out better, as some people don't have SI). So, we'll need a scripter, a couple modders, mabye a voice actor for the statues, and a modeler.

Edit- I would also like to make this so you have to complete these two quests before going to Hermarus Moras shrine, if you haven't already completed her quest.

Idea #2 seems awesome i love doing daedric shrine quests but about the Focus Crystals that means people will need SI. but alot of people do have SI now so i guess it would be ok.

 

I also think Zprospero might let us do something awesome with it to :) once he's finished making the New Daedric Prince mod i'm pretty sure there will be alot lot of downloaders so i he gave us permission maybe let us do a Ouroborous plugin which would be really cool because he's like the daedric prince version of Akatosh as he also controls time :D

Yeah, i've checked it out. I don't think that will be done anytime soon, and this shouldn't take WAY too long. The daedric shrines, I mean. As for the focus crystal, it could be something like the Great Welkyd stone just renamed 'Focus Crystal'.

Yeah good idea, it would be pretty cool to do Ouroboros at some point but since it will take a while that gives us plenty of free time to finish this and yes I'll help model maybe make the reward item :)

I also like the idea. It only makes sense that Jyggalag would have a

shrine, perhaps a long forgotten one though? Since he's been... elsewhere...

 

Here is a test I made using the Jyggalag creature mesh

and using the daedric statue texture on it: Link

 

Perhaps someone more experienced in Blender can reduce

the polygon count and pose the mesh and then export it as

a static mesh so it looks better?

 

Also, yes the second part of the Daedric Prince mod

will take a LONG time. But the first half, which may

include a shrine, should be ready for playtesting very

soon depending on how many problems I encounter.

Wow, thats great zprospero! As for it being long lost and forgotton, im not sure. I was kinda wondering if there could be a way where we could have Jygallags Steward speak to you if you dont have/haven't finished the SI questline, then Jygallag himself speak to you if you have finished it.

@ Argomirr- Ha ha I know how you feel. EG, RPC, STBM, ER, and now this...

@ L33- That be great, L33! If you want to get started on Jygallags reward, you can make really whatever you want, since barley anythings known about Jygallag. Preferably kind of Crystalline, and if possible, not a sword. You already get his sword at the end of the SI questline, so mabye something like a shield or crystal armor?

 

Edit- Or instead of Jygallags steward talking, mabye Sheogorath could pick up anad say something like "My brother is... out right now. Yes, yes, I know. Let's just say it's 'Complicated'." Then he'll give you the quest.

Okay, i've been thinking, and came up with some dialouge for the Jyggalag shrine.

 

Firstly, you can speak with Reenum, an Argonian in Bravil, about the 'Daedric Shrines' topic.

Reenum: "Daedric Shrines? Nope. Never seen one. Well, wait. Now that I think of it... In my youth, when I had first left the Black Marsh, I rememeber seeing a big statue... The people there said he was a daedric prince, but i'd never heard of him. His name was something like Jygy, or mabye of it was Jygally.... Ah ha! I know! It was Jyggalag! Here, I think I remember the location. Give me your map."

Conversation Ends, Jyggalag's shrine is marked on your map.

Journal entry 1, Quest: Jyggalag's Shrine- I spoke to Reenum, an Argonian in Bravil. He told me about a Daedric Shrine of Jyggalag in the Blackwood area. He marked it on my map.

 

When you arrive, you talk with the shrines worshippers, and you will get the same responses:

"Go see Dromeri, harold of our shrine."

 

Talking to Dromeri:

Dromeri: "Ah, stranger, do you wish to speak to the my master, the great Jyggalag?"

Player Choices: 1."Yes." 2."No."

Dromeri: 1."I see. But you must realize, my master will not speak. Not without a sacrifice. He requires a stone, or a crystal, to be more precise. It is something known as a 'Welkyd Stone', and can be found occasionally in ruins of our elven ancestors, or Ayleids. Once you have one, bring it back here and offer it to my lord."

2. "Well then, why are you here? This shrine is only for those who follow the great Prince Jyggalag!"

The conversation ends. You can now only ask about rumors.

 

Journal Entry 2, Quest: Jyggalag's Shrine- I spoke to Dromeri, a Dunmer worshipper at the shrine of Jyggalag. He told me that to speak with Jyggalag, I must offer to him a Welkyd Stone, which can be found in most any Ayleid ruin in Cyrodiil.

 

After you bring back the Welkyd Stone:

Talking to Dromeri:

Player Choices: "Welkyd Stone"

Dromeri: "Ah, good, you've returned with the stone! My master will be most pleased. You may sacrifice it to him at any time of the day, providing that you have it with you."

Conversation ends.

Journal Entry 3, Quest: Jyggalag's Shrine- I returned with the Welkyd Stone and spoke with Dromeri. He told me that I can sacrifice it to Jyggalag at any time, providing I have it in my inventory.

Talking to the statue. This is where SI comes in.

Dialouge option 1- You have completed the SI Main Questline.

Jyggalag: "Ah, could it be? It is! You! You are the one who saved me from my imprisonment inside my wretched brothers body! For that, I am eternally grateful. But now, back to the point of your visit. I have a special job for you. Lately, my shrine had been plundered, my followers picked off and killed by conjurers. They also stole a relic of mine, a thing much like the focus crystals of my realms, but one that is different, meant for your world. I would like you to kill the conjurers once and for all, and return with my crystal. Those are my only requirements. Except, I would prefer you do it in an... orderly fashion."

 

Dialouge option 2- You have began the SI questline, up to the part where Sheogorath has told you about the Grey March.

Sheogorath: "Huh? Another mortal? Wait? I believe I know that mortal! Your my mortal! What are you doing in the realm of man when theres a crisis going on here in the isles?!? What was that? What am I doing here in the shrine of my brother? You should know that! Didn't you understand ANYTHING I told you about the Grey March?!? I AM MY BROTHER!!! But, nevermind that. I made a pact, and i'm going to take care of it. Let's see... I know I wrote that down... Now where'd I put it... Oh yes. Jyggalag told me to send any adventurer to a nearby cave, where conjurers hold some precious crystal of his. It's called a 'Focus Crystal' somewhat like the ones here in the isles. Blah blah blah blah blah, thats all a bunch of junk you don't need to hear... Oh, he mentions something about doing it in an 'Orderly Fashion' to 'Reap the full fruit of his reward.' Why must he use such big words? Big words are bad. But nevermind that, just hurry up and do his little 'quest' so you can get back here to the isles. Things aren't going good at all... Not at all...

 

Dialouge option 3- You either don't have SI, or haven't reached the point in which you learn about the Grey March.

Sheogorath: "Huh? Another mortal? Great. Here we go again. What was that? Well yes, of course i'm not Jyggalag! He's... out for the milleni- er I mean the day. He's out for the day. *Sigh* Okay, you got me. But for now, let's just say its 'Complicated' okay? Good. Now, back to the matter at hand. You are to go to a nearby cave and get back a crystal, or, if you have a simple mind, a big, shiny rock. And, if you must know, it's called a 'Focus Crystal'. But you must be careful, as the crystal is guarded by conjurers who aren't exactly the freindliest bunch. You need to take them out too, but not on a date. No, no, if you took them on a date I would have to make fun of you. Plus, that would just be creepy. But enough blabbering, i've said too much already. Go to the cave, kill the conjurers, and get the crystal. Oh, and just a tip. Do this quest in an orderly fashion if you wish to get the better of two rewards. Now what are you waiting for, just standing there? The Grey March? ARGH! Stupid, stupid madgod. Why do I open my big mouth? Well actually, I have a relatively small mouth, just large vocal cords...

 

Journal Entry 3, Quest: Jyggalag's Shrine

(If you got Dialouge option 1)

I gave the sacrifice of the Welkyd Stone to the shrine, and Jyggalag spoke to me. After thanking me heartily for saving him from his imprisonment in the isles, he told me about a cult of conjurers who have recently been plaguing his shrine, and commisoned me to destroy them and take back a focus crystal they stole from his shrine. He marked the location on my map, then told me to do the job in an 'orderly fashion', which I took to mean that I was to kill them one by one, without the others knowing, ending with their leader.

 

(If you got Dialouge option 2)

I gave the sacrifice of the Welkyd Stone to the shrine, and Sheogorath spoke to me. After lecturing me on not being in the Shivering Isles to help stop the Grey March, he told me that for the time being he was taking Jyggalag's position for him. He then told me that I was to go to a nearby cave, which he pointed out on my map, and kill some conjurers who have attcked the shrine several times. They also stole a focus crystal in one of their raids, so I am also supposed to return with that. He warned me that I was to do it in an 'orderly fashion', which I believe means to do it by killing each conjurer one by one without any of the others knowing it. My last kill should be their leader.

 

(If you got Dialouge option 3)

I gave the sacrifice of the Welkyd Stone to the shrine, and, to my surprise, Sheogorath spoke to me. He told me that Jyggalag couldn't talk with me, then told me to go to a nearby cave, which he marked on my map, and retrieve a stone that he called a 'Focus Crystal'. He warned that it was guarded by several conjurers, who had raided the shrine many times lately. He mentioned that Jyggalag would prefer that I do this quest in an 'orderly fashion' if I wish to get the better of two possible rewards. By 'orderly fashion', I take it he meant that I am to take out the conjurers one by one without any of the others knowing it, ending with their leader.

 

You head to ??? Cave, and begin killing the conjurers. They'll be spaced out, so it shouldn't be too hard to take them out without the others knowing. But, if you are sighted killing a conjurer, you'll get a popup that says:

"I've been sighted. One of my rewards is now forfeit."

 

Finally, you come to the final chamber. It's relatively large, much like the one where Mannimarco is in the final Mages Guild quest. There are a couple conjurers (still spaced out) then the leader at the end of the chamber. After he's dead, the wall will open into a much smaller chamber, which looks something like a mix between a vault and a lab. The Focus Crystal (a Great Welkyd Stone, no longer a quest item and renamed 'Focus Crystal' so you don't have to have SI) is floating in the middle of the room. Once you have it......

 

Journal Entry 4, Quest: Jyggalag's Shrine

I've killed all the conjurers and retrieved the Focus Crystal. I must return it to the shrine so I can get my reward.

 

Speaking to the statue (again):

 

(Dialouge option one- You've finished the SI questline AND killed the conjurers in an orderly fashion.)

Jyggalag: "Ah, you've returned with the Focus Crystal. And the conjurers are dead, I presume? And my senses tell me you did it in a most.... satisfactory way. That is good. *Focus Crystal removed from players inventory* Now then, in honor of you and both your recent and past deeds, I award you with the ?????????, an ??????? of my choice. Once again, I thank you for saving me in the times before and aiding me in this situation. Perhaps our paths will.... Intertwine again one day."

 

(Dialouge option 2- You've finished the SI questline, but didn't kill the conjurers in an orderly fashion.)

Jyggalag: "Ah, you've returned with the Focus Crystal. And the conjurers are dead, I presume? But.... My senses. They tell me you did not do it in the way I asked of you. You just ran into the ruin, taking out conjurers as you went. It appears that you were sighted killing one by another of their ranks. That.... displeases me. But still, you'll get a reward, not exactly the one I had prepared, but it will still work. Here you go, the ????????, a ??????? of my choice. Once again, I thank you for saving me in times before, and aiding me in this situation. Perhaps our paths will.... Intertwine again one day. *Focus Crystal removed from players inventory*

 

(Dialouge option 3- You've completed the SI questline up to the point where Sheogorath tells you about the Grey March AND killed the conjurers in an orderly fashion.)

Sheogorath: "You're back, mortal? Well thats good. I was hoping you weren't dead, but of course if you were i'd have some new organs to play with, and I just lost my good mortal head ball. But anyways, you didn't die, which still gives me mixed emotions, but I must take that shiny Focus Crystal from you in exchange for this beautiful, crystalline, um.... ordered thingy! *Focus Crystal taken from players Inventory* And yes, I have been watching you. I saw you kill the conjurers and I know you did it in the way my brother would have prefered, so you will get the better of the two rewards I have here. So, I, Sheogorath, the great Prince of Madness and Substitute God of Order, do hereby award you, the mortal, with the ??????????, an ?????? of Jyggalag's choice. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have more... Pressing matters to attend to. LIKE THE GREY MARCH!!!"

 

(Dialouge option 4- You've completed the SI questline up to the point where Sheogorath tells you about the Grey March, but you didn't kill the conjurers in an orderly fashion.)

Sheogorath:""You're back, mortal? Well thats good. I was hoping you weren't dead, but of course if you were i'd have some new organs to play with, and I just lost my good mortal head ball. But anyways, you didn't die, which still gives me mixed emotions, but I must take that shiny Focus Crystal from you in exchange for this beautiful, crystalline, um.... ordered thingy! *Focus Crystal taken out of player inventory* And yes, I have been watching you. Don't try to fool me, I know you didn't kill those conjurers the way you were told too! You simply ran in and killed them, not paying attention to my warning. Tsk, tsk, tsk. If it were my decision, I would make an assortment of flaming brains fall on you. But sadly, its not my decision. But anyways, I need to give you this. I, Sheogorath, the great Prince of Madness and Substitute God of Order, do hereby award you, the mortal, with the ??????????, an ?????? of Jyggalag's choice. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have more... Pressing matters to attend to. LIKE THE GREY MARCH!!!"

 

(Dialouge Option 5- You either don't have SI or haven't completed the questline up to the part where you learn about the Grey March AND you killed the conjurers in an orderly fashion.)

Sheogorath:"Ah, the mortal returns. Not surprisingly, I mean. Of course I hoped you would live! But, if you didn't, your innards would make some nice toys for me to play with. Now, I see you've returned with the Focus Crystal. I'll take that from you. *Focus Crystal removed from Player Inventory* I can also tell that you disposed of the conjurers in a way that would make my brother proud! As for your reward, its not exactly the funnest item i've ever seen, kind of crystaly and sharp, but its not mine so I don't really care. So here you are. The ????? of ???????. Now, I must take my leave. I only have a couple of months before the Grey M- ARGH!!! Stupid, stupid Sheogorath!!! I have to go stick some soap down my throat now... Yum. I like soap."

I returned to the shrine of Jyggalag and spoke to the statue. Jyggalag/Sheogorath spoke to me, and after congratulating me on killing the conjurers and returning with the Focus Crystal, he awarded me with the ??????????, a powerful ??????.

 

(If you got dialouge entries 2, 4, or 6)

I returned to the shrine of Jyggalag and spoke to the statue. Jyggalag/Sheogorath spoke to me, and after scolding me on not killing the conjurers in an 'Orderly Fashion', he awarded me with ???????? an enchanted ????????.

 

Quest Complete.

:D i'm quite liking this stuff it's sounding awesome. :D and i'm liking how people are deciding to make new daedric princes XD Cheesemcbutters looks really freaky and thank the nine i can make custom creatures and i can now weightpaint. i was thinking about making my own daedric prince to :P i have a perfect story layout for him, the funny thing is is i made it up as i went along and reread it after and it sounds perfect! :)

This sounds pretty good, simple yet effective. The only thing that doesn't make much sense for me is that #2 dialogue where it's suposed you've already started doing something to stop the grey march (it's been long since I've played the SI quest, I don't remember the details) but it's like you're helping both daedra at the same time. I know Sheogorath doesn't make sense most of time in most of things, except about the grey march, that really scares him. I'd make instead that if you go to visit Jyggalag shrine while it's suposed you'd be stoping him instead Sheogorath speaks to you and accuse you of betrayal (after all you've worshipped Jyggalag with your offering) and so he "makes fun of you", so simply they're incompatible at the same time, or rather I'd use the same text than in #3, so it's not that an spoiler and it's more ambiguous, wich I think fits better Sheogorath speeches. Just a suggestion, thought, as I've said it's looking good. Keep it up.
