After playing for 24hrs, there are somethings I dont dig! I would love it if ya can turn of the markers on the compass...where is the fun in being shown where to look for a object/person, its like colour by numbers- There is the usaul issue of gaining a real high priced item ya wanna get rid of but ya can only get squat for it-I dont mind having to work hard to get leveled up but its not too clear on how and what goes on- be great to seperate what ya are wearing from other stuff in ya bag, loike in Moorowind, y adont get short selling ya pants! Anyway...love the game so far and look everyone at all the blank areas around the game map..I see a lot of expansion packs coming up...Good, I always wanted to holiday in Skyrim!

I had no difficulty understanding the original post, unless it was edited (or my ability to comprehend internet engrish has gotten to the point where I don't even notice it)...

Anyway, there's already mods that disable the markers on the map (except for quest markers).

Creating an extra separator in the inventory tab for equipped items would be great if it can be done easily.

As for the blank areas on the map - have you done any exploring? They're absolutely littered with camps, caves, ruins, shrines, etc.

I'm just starting to realise quite how much they have dumbed it down, combining skills into one and such. My guess would be that they're doing it to gain a bigger proportion of the market for the xbox 360. Most developers seem to make this bizzare idea that console gamers aren't quite as well endowed in the brain department as pc gamers? as someone who does both this has aslways perplexed me.

I agree totally With Modern Legend - I think it royally sucks that they are dumbing down games for the console market - and that's exactly what it is, making games dumber than they could be, in order to appeal to people who (the marketting people would have us believe) are too dumb to get the game in its pure form. What the hell? Why can't Xbox users handle having seperate Short Blade and Long Blade skills? It's hardly a leap of intelligence.

And as for screwing with the TESCS so we can't add in the features that we so desperately want and deserve, that's just bloody wrong. Whoever at Bethsoft thought that was a good idea (ie, the entire Marketing department I'll be bound) should be summarilly executed. Exaggerated? Not so much >:(

However, I don't actually mind the compass pointers on quests. In a game where the NPC's are now wandering about in and out of bars, their houses, and the rest of the towns, you need something to give you a hint. And if you don't want it, then don't use the Active Quest feature (pretty handy that).

Thanks for the support on my random rant man, I didnt know they had messed around with the TESCS, that is a pain. I've only managed to play it for a few hours at a m8s but being honest I appreciated the compass pointers, as LM4WIA said, with the new AI its going to get harder to find people, and in a game as big as oblivion u'r gonna have to stop and ask for directions sometime! lol

I forgot about Short Blade/Long Blade. It would be nice if they didn't combine/remove so many skills. But from their eyes, if they can draw in an ENTIRE new group of gamers, but they'll piss off and potentially loose a small group, to hell with it. They're trying to make money.

imahoot is right on target. It makes sense from a business standpoint in all honesty, they're trying to push a product and gain a larger fan population and company loyalty. It's a perfectly acceptable strategy in my opinion; if I were in business, I would want to make the most money I could from a product that took years to develop. That isn't to say I have my complaints about those decisions as someone loyal to the company, but in order to gain a larger constituency of gamers, strategic decisions have to be made on how to get new gamers while keeping the older fans. I think they did this quite well. I know despite it's pitfalls, I still play Oblivion religiously, so they've done what they needed to do. Not having animations/skills moddable sucks, though I wonder if those changes are on the way in the future, though this is pure speculation. Already I'm seeing some great mods released, and the game isn't much more than a week old, so huge props to the modder community for being so dedicated to making the game more enjoyable for the more purist RPGers.

I also wish they didn't change some of the things they did, but I'm not a hardcore pessemist, and I see how much they've improved.

But the worst (and by worst I mean best) thing they did was the face gen. I've spent more time in there than playing!

I also wish males could wear skirts. I liked killing merchant ladies and taking there skirts in MW.
