Moribundusvii
Sometimes I crash in Oblivion due to my graphics card overheating, and my face has reset! My skin tone is the same but my face has reset to the default shape. How can I fix this?
dc4bs
Err... A repair hammer? :P "Would you like one lump, or two?" (Sorry, couldn't resist) Sounds like some minor corruption of the save file that was repaired on load by resetting those parameters. Do earlier saves of the same game have the issue? if not, you might need to hope some enterprising individual makes a save file editor that allows you change those parameters (or go back to an earlier save if it's really important to you to have the custom facial features). My roomate laughes at me because I have about 400 save points of my old Morrowind game... And I'm up to about 40 or so in the first few days of Oblivion... I save often. You never know when you are going to crash and corrupt the current save file. best to not have to go back too far to recover. F5 is your friend as well. -dc4bs"That's why I never kiss 'em on the mouth!" - Jayne Cobb
Daethar
I save often. You never know when you are going to crash and corrupt the current save file. best to not have to go back too far to recover. F5 is your friend as well. As well as, of course, running into that throng of creatures that handily defeat you and it's been too long since your last autosave. Mini-maxing keeps you safe! tashpool
I'll have to search through my old Morrowind bookmarks, but I was sure there was a console command to do this once on your character. Of course it may not be in place for Oblivion. I'll update if I can find it, but a quick google search didn't give any desirable results. Found it, open the console, ~then, "showracemenu" Not sure why it would keep resetting though, maybe check for some kind of ini file error? e.g. multiple entries or something like that.
