CTD + Missing Textures

Yay! Now, we're off to the races!

Next, decide on the next mod you can't live without and make a manual save in-game. I make "named" saves so I can go back to it if a new mod breaks something: open the console and type something like, save b4AlternateStart or save noSFO

Install the next mod, sort it with BOSS or LOOT, clean with TES5EDIT if necessary, run the reproccer if necessary, and test the game for a bit. Run Vurt's test and see if there is a dramatic reduction in time to CTD. If so, uninstall that mod, or search for similar issues and fixes.

Try a couple of your texture mods WITHOUT SMC. Pick different categories; clutter, armor, vegetation, LOD, etc. Test each one to see if your CTD's return. If they do, get rid of that mod, or look around for lower resolution versions/fixes/patches/special instructions.

The fact that SkyRE is working well is a very good sign; its a "demanding" mod. Now you simply have to discover which mods work well with it and don't exceed any system/game limits. There are very good SkyRE packs on the STEP website. You might check them out to see if one of them matches your play style: they've already been tested together AND with the STEP Core mods which improve many other game aspects. Some STEP mods may STILL crash your game; your computer is unique. Ask those guys about it; they are VERY good at maintaining mod compatibility.

Take your time; this slow testing will pay off BIG TIME later on. And, importantly, EXPECT some problems in a big mod list. Don't get frustrated; you probably CAN'T use all the mods you want. But you can probably use a lot of them.
