PackDude
I recently purchased Oblivion after watching my boss play it on his xbox 360. I'm playing it on a pc however, and would like to be able to use a controller if possible. I tried a MadCatz xbox 360 compatible controller, but it didn't work. The analog sticks would move forward, back, and side to side, but the 'look' function didn't work so your pc was always facing in one direction. I took the MadCatz contoller back and exchanged it for a microsoft xbox 360 controller. I haven't opened it yet though, wanted to see if anyone has tried it. If it will not work, then I don't want to open it and have to return it. If the xbox 360 controller won't work, is there another hand-held controller that will work? I've played Morrowind and other games with the mouse/keyboard and I can live with that if I have to. I would just like to try it with a contoller and be able to sit back and relax while I'm playing. Stampede
I'm surprised you got any reaction at all from the controller! I know little of consoles, but I doubt this would work. There are tons of controllers available for the PC. All modelled off console controls.
Morgoth
I have no experience whatsoever with Xbox (360) controllers, but I am fairly sure that it is at least possible to use Sony's DualShock controller with a PC. I don't know what kind of connection the Xbox controllers use, but you may want to look for an Xbox-controller-port-to-USB or -PS/2 adapter. PackDude
I'll check. The MadCatz controller packaging said it was 'Windows XP compatible', but I just couldn't get everything to work. I will look into some other controllers as well.
mrme
Microsoft have made a 360 controller for pc but its a wired version only as the wireless version has some kinda chip in it that `talks` to the 360 and therefor a mod to fix this to work on pc may be tough.I personally bought a cheap ps2 clone pad for my pc from game in the uk and its as good as any official xbox or ps2 pad ive ever used.
