Better Doomstones

Not sur if it's already been mentioned.

 

Why not do some Doomstones based on daedric princes?

 

find what they are daedric prince of then use that as an idea for what spells or powers the doomstone gives you. :D

Well, if you are going to make new doomstones, not modified ones, I might have an idea or two.

 

I think that it would be fun to make doomstones that either help or hurt you. I like the idea of balancing overpowered, underbalanced ideas.

 

What if you made a doomstone that helps out people of a certain faction, such as thieves, does a nuetral ability for non thief, non fighters guild, and then does another to you if you are fighters guild and thieves guild?

 

For instance, what if you made a doomstone, the Chivalry Stone, as a hypothetical. This idea isn't balanced but just raw data:

where the abilities would be:

 

thiefAbility:

sneak +10, lockpick +10, agility +20, strength -10, endurance -10, armor class -20

 

fighterAbility:

strength +10, endurance +10, shield 20, speed -10, agility -10, sneak -20

 

fighterSneakAbility:

sneak +15, lockpick +15, feather 100, speed -10, blade -15, blunt -15

 

blandAbility:

mercantile +5, speechcraft +5, personality +5, blade -5, marksman -5, light armor -5

 

 

Each time you use the doomstone, you would update the ability, depending on your faction rank or fame/infamy etc. These abilities could be static or have a duration.

 

 

I think that what I'm saying is that dynamically making the stones would be fun. I'll post some real ideas as soon as I sober up (in the morning) lol. You rock for posting this idea.

That's an interesting concept. :) Perhaps some of the misc stats could also be used this way. Something that that damages your health if you steal something, but heals you if you do something good, and also a reversed one, of course. That would be more noticeable that a small decrease/increase of your stats. They player would have to choose wisely, because if they're evil the ability would "prevent" them from doing good things and vice versa.

 

By the way, I've just finished the first ability. (Also the easiest one :P )

Sounding good :D, If need be and we can't find any more idea's for doomstones then maybe you could extend what some doomstones do :).

for example you have you doomstones that give you powers, but then you also have your Demonstones these act like an oblivion gate but they send you to another realm. (Looks different to an oblivion plane). where there are a range of obstacles and things to get to your prize.???

 

Just a thought incase we run out of ideas and need more :D

Yeah thats awesome it could then be called Doomstones and Demonstones i don't know why Demonstones it just sounded really good. :D

 

For the other realms i was thinking, black exterior with just floating pieces of ayleid ruins that you have to make your way across :D
