ecksile Posted December 29, 2009 Share Posted December 29, 2009 So i just got done adding sounds to toxa's Stalker mutants mod found --->Here<---Mines a standalone though not an addon like his nor did i use his esp. Its for personal use but if i get the permissions from him after I'm done ill release or i might just port my own monsters. But before all that I've run into a few problems I've got most the sounds working but there's a few which are eluding me and I'm wondering if you guys might have any ideas on a possible fix or workaround. I also have a couple other ?s i would like to ask as well. I have supplied a video for reference to first couple problems. So first off some of you may or may not know that some sound files for creatures are actually told by the animations when and what sound to play during the animation. So far I've been able to get just about everyone working except 3. I have made these .kfs identical to there working counterparts but still the refuse to play the sounds. The animations are AttackPowerRight and AttackPowerLeft. These 2 animations don't play any sound at all vanilla so i added the text keys to make them play sounds and adjusted when i wanted the sounds played but they refuse to play. You will see in the video a couple of the blood suckers attacks that don't have any sound those are these 2 animations. Second the blood sucker has a run sound which is heavy breathing. Ive tried a couple different ways of getting this to work smoothly but each one has its fault. The first way was to include the sound to be played from the animation sequence and cutting up each breath to play when the animations loops choosing a one of the breaths randomly, but this unfortunately made the sound replay faster then then it could finish and also had some flaws of not playing during strafing or turning unless i added them into those animations as well. The problem with that is that the files would have just replayed before finishing even more and just sounded worse so i abandoned that idea. My second idea was a built in sound cue which works through the GECK and is used by a couple other monsters. The sound is called consciousLP and it plays as long as the creature is alive. Unfortunately it loops and doesn't have a set sequence for when its activated so its always on no matter what the creature is doing. You can see in the video in the very beginning when the blood sucker howls and is still breathing while howling =/. If anyone has any ideas to try to get the attack sounds to play, or the breathing sounds to work only when the blood sucker is running at you id love to hear them. I also have a few other questions. For those of you that have played STALKER you know that the blood sucker can turn invisible at whim. Ive been analyzing its behavior in game (in STALKER) and although it tends to be random the blood sucker tends to change invisible only when charging. In idle its visible and id say about 60-75% of the time it turns visible right before an attack. If anyone has any ideas how to implement that via script I'm all ears. And lastly Is there a way to have glowing eyes while the chameleon effect is activated? I haven't tried adding glowmaps yet because I'm still working on the sounds but is it possible at all? Or would the eyes just turn chameleon as well and not glow while invisible? I think that's it ill update if i think of anything else. Thank you for your time. ***EDIT Just remembered something else how would i go about making certain creatures only spawn between certain hours of the day like dusk til dawnish.
