Install preperations GotY ed

I got fallout 3 about a month after it first came out and had many bug problems.

 

But I just got and installed GotY edition so to be extra safe I want to make sure I do everything right this time.

 

So I figured I would ask here to make sure.

 

I have version 1.7.0.3 is this the most up to date patch?

 

I heard that auto and quick save may corrupt saved games but what about saving by the cheat console?

EXAMPLE - Hitting the ~ key and typing "save DarkwolfJr"

I ask this because I like to be able to name my saves.

 

GECK is installed and patched.

 

Instead of installing the game to H:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3 I installed it to

H:\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3

 

(Due to a goof on my part when I set up this computer H drive is the master hard drive and where windows is installed)

 

I installed the latest FOMM because it is better for me at selecting mods than the the game launcher.

 

Also the old FOMM I had would let me run the game without the CD this one will not.

Can/should I change that?

 

FOMM has a auto sort feature but it is still in beta.

I was wandering if any one has tried it an how reliable it is?

 

Well that's all I can think of right now but if I overlooked anything please let me know.
