reborntoninja
Im new to Dragon Age and im trying to find cool mods to download. I got all excited finding really cool mods and putting them where I thought I was supposed to but none of the mods are working that Ive downloaded. Ive downloaded at least 15 mods and none work. If anyone can tell me the where mods are supposed to be played it would be much appreciated.
jwvanderbeck
It all depends on the mod. I'm biased, but I recommend using DAModder, which is a mod manager, to install your mods. It takes care of putting them where they belong and more.

Then you will find one in the mods detailed description listed on nexus or where ever you downloaded it at, there you should find installation instructions. I do however reccomend using DAmodder as John suggested, not only can DAmodder easily install the vast majority of mods but it can also easily remove any mod that you do not like. I'm biased, but I recommend using DAModder I would say modest is more like it, DAmodder is a master work of art.
reborntoninja
I downloaded DAModder and it has been working just fine for quite a while until I came across a mod with no readme and instructions where to install it and for some reason it refuses to work with DAModder. I cant recall the name of the mod because I deleted it for some reason. I remember it was a .rar file though. After I came across that one mod I came across a few more with no readmes or instructions and they wont work with DAModder. So what do I do with those mods? After I came across that one mod I came across a few more with no readmes or instructions and they wont work with DAModder. So what do I do with those mods? .rar is zipped archive you use a programm like winrar or winzip or preferably the awesome freeware program 7zip that is widely used by modders, students and profesionals all over the world and is available free of charge unlike the other two. after unzipping the .rar its possible that you will get a DAzip file along with a read me file if not then you have two choices, the first being that you take my advice given in my post above and go directly to the site that you downloaded the mod from and read the detailed description of the mod. in 99.99% of all the mods listed on any nexus site you will find install instructions there for the mod that you downloaded. Your next option is to go to Johns blog and actualy learn how to make use of all of DAmodders capabilities, in doing that you will learn that DAmodder is far more powerful then ever expected and is capable of bringing you a cup of coffee while you give advice on nexus......... ok so no coffee but maybe that will be implented in the next release.
