Problem getting mods to work

Back when I had xp and vista, all my meshes, textures, and etc. where in folders. Now that I have windows 7, they're all in BethesdaSoftworks Archives. Basically, I have to have these to run Oblivion. I can't extract the contents of each and place them in regular files and run the game otherwise the game crashes before it even starts. The only mods that I can get to work are OMODs since they practically install themselves. What I'm just looking for is how the heck to I get my mods I want into those archives because I've literally spent 5 hours trying to figure out how with no avail. I'm fairly knowledgeable in modding and I know how to do everything else BUT get them into the archives.

BethesdaSoftworks Archives usually called .bsa are always used and are NEEDED by Oblivion. They do not need to be extracted and should not be to play the game. I have been using Win7 since May when it came out as an evaluation version. And have the released version now. Oblivion runs fine with no change from the procedure that was needed with Vista.

ONLY the meshes etc from MODs , NOT the vanilla meshes etc. are placed in separate folders.

Installing non OMOD mods is exactly the same in Win7 as in XP or Vista.

When you enable an OMOD, it places the meshes etc in the proper places in the \data folder exactly as if you had installed the mod manually and not used the OMOD. The game never sees the OMODS, they are for OBMM use only, and OBMM actually closes before the game starts.

You can actually remove the OMOD after it has been activated and used to install a mod and the mod will still work. (Not recommended)

Oh, I get it now. Thanks. It's been awhile since I last played Oblivion and I just plain don't remember seeing those archives ever. That's what threw me off. That and I was just playing Morrowind earlier and I know for a fact that that doesn't have those archives. :P
