Last time I used my computer, something happen to my motherboard so I changed it, and installed Win 7 Ultimate. But all the sudden it lags insane! Not only on Fallout 3, but all other games as well, even the windows lags.

My specc's are: ( Taken from "My Computer thingy" )

Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit

Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.80GHz 2.79 GHz

2,00 GB RAM. Not sure what kind

NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS, 512 GB RAM

It may be the hard disc cause it's old, or it may be the motherboard. The Q is if this can reduce FPS.

Thanks^^

N.B. I don't know much about computer's, so talk to me as a kid :P kinda....

You didn't specify what your OS was before you installed Windows 7. If it was XP or Vista, did you upgrade your version of directX? XP uses 9.0c and Vista uses 10, while Windows 7 uses 11. Another thing that may help is to defrag your hard drive and update your video drivers. Other than that, many people have complained that they have problems running Fallout 3 on Windows 7.

I used XP, I was hoping for better FPS with Win 7. I actually think I use DirectX 9.0 cause GTA San Andreas is the only game that camed with DirectX.

I have used Advanced System Care 3 Pro to defrag, but I'm guessing that's not the best program for that. Drivers is updated

fallout 3 was never tested on windows 7 , i myself have DX11 on vista and it runs fine , try giving your computer a good clean out with your other system tools that windows 7 has diskcleanup ect, its funny fallout still says i have DX10 but when i go into my Nvidia control panal i have DX11 >_>..... update all your drivers may help as well i know windows 7 is still very new but not everthing is working right from day one, this is why i always give a new OS a year before i get it, a little note ALL vista drivers work on windows 7, because Windows Vista was the test platform for windows 7 finale release , a bit like how we had windows 2000 then xp , alot of thing that did not work in Vista got changed for windows 7....... also your computer need a bit more ram and you 3d card is a little old as well this is why maybe its running slower on 7
