marieruth
I understand that I need DDS plugin as well as normalmap plugin for gimp to edit the textures, but to apply the textures to a mesh is where I run into issues. The armor/weapon retexturing tutorials have helped me a wee bit, but is there a source or something out there that could help me out with retexturing bottles? Or how to combine the DDS's, normalmaps, etc of the bottle so that it's applied to a mesh and the changes are visible in the GECK? I'm sorry if my post seems unclear, I'm not exactly sure how to ask what I'm trying to ask...
dangman4ever
The same techniques you use to retexture armor and weapons apply to bottles and other meshes as well since..well they're meshes. SO just apply the same methods/techniques you see in those tutorials and just apply it to the bottles. In fact, they're more than likely the same exact steps. i.e edit texture, open up mesh of choice in Nifskope. reassign/replace/change texture under "BSShaderTextureSet" somewhere in the block list, Save as, and done. Thanks for editing your response. A lot of the tutorials I've seen I just got lost when I got to the Nifskope step.
