howdyman
High level of violence? Get Martigen's Monster Mod. I've added it recently, and it's a blast, with plenty of new monsters both in dungeons and out in the countryside. Throw in a few other traveler mods, and you'll come upon great battles, not just find yourself in the midst of them. Though Martigen's also employs the concept of factions, and you will from time to time see third parties (often animals) enter battles attacking both sides. :D Thanks This sounds great, what other traveler mods are you using with it? I recall a blood mod that added blood to your character and lowered some stats until washed off...
howdyman
Is it best to mod first then start the game? or start a game and then mod it? Also I will be installing from CD (GOTY Edition) what updates should I be looking for?
theuseless
Only a very few mods require you to start a new game. It might be a good idea, but to my knowledge none of the mods listed (except maybe MMM, I haven't played with that yet) don't require a new save. Make sure you have oblivion and shivering isles installed from disk, then check out the Official Shivering Isles Patch v1.2.416. You can also go for the Unofficial Official Patches. They make them for the SI and all the expansions on the other disk, like the knights of the nine, mehrune's razor, etc. Look up stuff on the nexus, you can search all kinds of stuff up, I would start with 'traveler' first. You will undoubtedly find a bunch. There is a traders of Tamriel mod as well, though I don't know its name. Official SI Patchunofficial SI PatchUnfficial Oblivion PatchUnfficial Mods Patch Just make sure you load the patch directly after the mod it updates. You can do this with either OBMM or Wrye Bash. Both are relatively easy to get the basics down. This mean to load the Oblivion.esm, then if you use the unofficial patches, load the UOP 3.2, then ShiveringIsles.esp, UOP SI, Mehrune's Razor, UOP for Mehrune's Razor, etc. If you only wish to use the Official Patch, Install Oblivion, then install SI, then install the patch. It will update you automatically. hope this helps, theuseless
