Support for foreign characters in TESnexus file descriptions / article

In the forum I can type something like テスト and it appears as it should. In articles / file descriptions I can't. I wish to request improved support for foreign language characters.

In the absence of true support for Unicode (foreign language characters) it would be sufficient if HTML codes like

& #12473;

could be processed as HTML instead of being made 'safe' by being turned into ス.

Simply allowing & to stay as & provided it is followed by #nnnnn; would allow foreign language characters to be displayed (albeit awkwardly).

I believe the main reason is because this is an english language site, so mod descriptions are intended to be in a language that can be read by most users and staff. As is, if someone posts a comment in a language that is not known by staff, and that comment gets reported, we either have to settle for a half-assed google translate to know what exactly is being said, go by what the comment was reported as (and try to find some semblance in the message), or just delete it, message the user about posting in a different language, and move on.

Although I am studying Japanese, my ability is nowhere good enough to read or translate most that might be said in a mod description, but I might be willing to make the occasional attempt if you should find a few modders who want to host files here, but don't know much English, it might make for good practice. IIRC, buddah also has some background in this language as he had communicated with some Japanese modders a few years back. But think that's about it.

Moderators can't exactly do their job if they don't know what's being said. If we allow unicode characters, we would also probably have to allow Korean and Chinese as well, and that can make for a really tough problem if nobody happens to know those languages.

If it really is 'by design' I think that is a poor decision. If somebody posts obscenity in Swahili it will be just as indecipherable to the moderators, but will display perfectly well. To give a more realistic example the 76+ Russian and 29+ mods can't have readmes in their native character set, while the 41+ Italian mods can.

However I think it is unlikely to be intended to be happening, if for no other reason than that foreign Unicode characters display perfectly well in the forums.
