Hididety
Hey guys, I just finished a model for the daedric scourge from Morrowind. It's not exact and I added a couple or different flavors to it but it looks nice and deadly. So yeah who wants to skin it? I don't have the program or skills to do it and would be glad to have some one do it as a joint mod. I have it as a nif in blender and the 3ds max file still so whoever wants it let me know what one to send you. Ill see if I can't remember my photbucket password and put the pic up real quick. Little side note I also have a custom claymore that could use a skin. You wanna do this to let me know I'll get pics of both. Hididety
Well even if you guys can't help I'd like to ask for a comment on the quality of the model. These are some of the first I have ever made and I kinda rushed through them. Just let me know if you see any where that needs improvement and how to make it better that kind of thing.:)
Unavi
Hi, very nice models, impresive for your first ones too. There are some things that i should point out: On the first model you used the subsurf modifier - - that's not a good idea for weapons or maybe for models that will be part of a game as the poly count reaches high numbers very fast. Also the smoothing: it dosent do justice to the waepon if all the edges are round. You must make them sharp - i too used to makem them that way but then i found a nice tutorial about making sharp edges combinated with round surfaces. It acctualy is very basic and i suggest you give it a try. (I'm sorry if you know this things already, but i'm a little tired from some hours of modeling and i can't see clearly the blades:)) Other than that they look awesome and ready to go :) I realy hope someone's gonna help you. (I'm busy atm) P.s: what about the UV map? did you make it?
Hididety
Well the edges are actually clearly visible when looking at the actual model the pic is a little fuzzy for some reason. The areas that are completely smooth is just some thing that max does by itself, I could turn it off but I don't mind it because it doesn't actually make a face. And yeah I did use a mesh smooth mod on it but the program I am using(3ds Max 2010) is pretty good about only making new faces where needed so it didn't hurt it to much. I only used it on the handle spikes and not the whole object I know that would be dumb. I can take out quite a few faces that come to mind that aren't needed. The poly count is my main concern. What do you think is a generalization of what the game could handle. I'm pretty sure that the size of the polies are a factor as well because it will definetly lag it with really small ones in the software. And as for the UV map I know what it is but have never had to do it so don't know how, im sure its simple though so if I should give that to who ever helps I could look it up real quick. But thanks for the tips. :) Oh and FYI the scourge pic was taken in blender and the claymore in max if any one was wondering about the colors.
