sean03291
As part of my mod, I have deleted some trees and a bunch of shrubs, I did so by deleting them from the world place. So while in the GECK they do not appear there, but when I go to play the game there’s like a static outline of the trees. What I mean is though you can see them, you can walk right through them, and when you get close to them it’s obvious there not supposed to be there. Anyone know how to fully delete them? pkleiss
Unfortunately, you have commited one of the cardinal No-Nos of modding. You now have two problems. The first is that the Trees also have LOD (level of Detail) data. This allows the game engine to render them from a distance with less detail than up close. You can't remove LOD data without re-generating LOD which can take a very very long time in the wasteland. Secondly, you deleted vanilla assets which will only lead to record corruption in your mod. Never, and I mean, never delete vanilla objects from the GECK. Instead, set them to be initially disabled. At this point, your best bet is to look in the "Backup" folder for an old save of your mod. The GECK automatically saves your last 10 versions in that folder. Hopefully, there is a version there you can use where you haven't deleted any vanilla objects yet, and you can start over from there. If not, you will have to learn to use FO3Edit and manually go through your mod recods and remove the deletes you made. Then you should find a location that does not have trees (or buldings or other LOD objects) around to build your mod or just build your mod around these objects. Even if you sucessfully deleted the trees, there LOD data will put them right back.
