DrNewcenstein
And so, I built a Package List that does just that: my Thalmor Hunters leave their Lodge at 6AM and travel to a specific Rorikstead Exterior point. I keep my Timescale set to 5, and even with the relentless spawns of Excessive Wolves, they reach their destination at about 6:45-6:50AM. They wander around that point until 7AM, then head for a specific marker outside Broken Tower Redoubt, then up the road to a specific marker outside Blind Cliff Cave, then up to Kolskeggr, then to the Caravan point near Markarth at Salvius Farm, then to a point near Fort Sungard Oubliette (the little cave you fall into from inside the Fort, where various random spawns occur), then all the way back to the Whiterun Tower where you fight the first dragon of the game, then along the road in front of Whiterun to Honningbrew Meadery. It's easier to set it up so that they hit vanilla waypoints and "landmarks" than placing 80+ XMarkers by hand, and then forgetting where you put them, or worse, moving a vanilla asset unintentionally when trying to position your marker. However, you do have to know your way around Skyrim, though you may find yourself having to choose the correct points in the Render Window (I did mine through drop-down lists, looking for areas that contained the specially-named XMarkers I had placed by hand for the original Patrol route to make sure I was in the right spot). DocNewcenstein
Necro. I finally abandoned this travel package model and just placed Thalmor Hunters in little campsites at various intersections across Skyrim. I'm still not getting nearly as many Thalmor With Prisoner patrols as I did before doing the mod, and the game still tries to re-route them away from my Hunters, but they usually end up trying to walk through a Giant camp, or through bears and saber cats, or wolves, or spiders. Some of the outposts never see a Thalmor Patrol, but I know as soon as I remove them from one area, it'll turn into Grand Central Station. However, I did revisit another idea; autonomous adventurers.I created an Adventurer NPC who would hang out in Dead Man's Drink in Falkreath all Weekend, and Mondas morning at 8am, she leaves the inn, gets on her horse, and rides up to Halldir's Cairn, goes through the whole place up to Halldir himselves, allowing 12 hours to do so, then travels from there back to Falkreath.I gave her a custom Adventurer Faction, and to ensure she behaved more like a Player, assigned Draugr and Bandit factions as her enemy.I also gave her a ton of Skill Perks, and made her Essential. First thing she did when I walked into the inn to monitor her was a flying leap at Delacourt, the bard, running her sword through his chest. Then she slaughtered two guards who came in, Thadgeir, Kust, and Narri, then went outside at 8am to start her package, killed 3 more guards, then attempted to kill her Essential horse. I had to remove her faction relationships, because she just would not leave town until everyone was dead, including her horse which has a Stay Put/Near Self package so it doesn't wander off when she dismounts. So, Round 2: She leaves at 8am and tries to kill her horse. Round 3: She no longer has a "Ride Horse" flag, nor a horse, so she walks to Halldir's Cairn (her package has the Preferred Speed:Run checked), where once inside, she warps to Halldir's location and takes on all 3 versions of him at once.Once he's dead, she waits until 8pm before running back to Falkreath. So yeah, she's broken. Hopefully they'll address these issues with Packages and make it way easier to set up NPCs to run complex (simple?) packages like "go here, do this, get item, return with item, deliver item to target". JobVanDam
I have my own custom patrol mod and I've noticed that sometimes Factions get baked into the savefile, I'm not sure what it is but yeah even though they have all the right factions sometimes NPC's will fight each other. Or other things regarding packages don't quite work properly. At some point I have to start a new game and hope these bugs don't persist.
