Compile it with the ExcelProcessor and put the .gda(s) in your override folder.

1). Open the .xls with Excel, OpenOffice, or whatever you use and make your changes.

2). Find ExcelProcessor.exe in Dragon Age\tools\ResourceTools\Processors.

3). To make this step easier you can copy ExcelProcessor.exe and your .xls file to a simple directory like C:\2das or something similar.

4). Drag your .xls file onto the ExcelProcessor. A dos window should pop up briefly, and afterward your .gda(s) will appear in the folder.

5). Copy the .gda(s) the ExcelProcessor created into your override directory and you're good to go.

If step 4 doesn't work for you as it doesn't work for me, you can optionally create a file in Notepad and paste inside: C:\\\2DA\\\ExcelProcessor.exe ABI_base.xls -outdir=C:\\\2DA\\\override, editing as necessary for your directories and the .xls file you want to compile. Then name the file converter.bat, copy it to your folder and run it. This is the method I have to use, and special thanks to ladydesire on the Bioware forums for showing me how to do it.
