V3RM1L10N
Okay, I'll just start by saying that I have no experience modding... At all. I can't even make use of the G.E.C.K. along with the tutorial from Bethesda to put Vault 74 into the game. So; unless someone is willing to tell me how, (Probably through TeamSpeak2 or Teamviewer4 or something) I can but provide... 'Creative Input'..? Predator didn't go into much detail about where the Predators come from; and I believe the Alien movies left the origins pretty open, and are only set a few hundred years ahead of Fallout 3, I think) with the Aliens vs. Predator movies put a possible quest into place to obtain the armor. I was thinking that to start the quest; the player could receive a note; or message of some kind, (Either from a random NPC approaching the player after a certain 'fame' or something of that nature was reached; no dialog would be needed - or the player could just 'Find a Note' TES:IV-style). The note (more of a map marker really) would add the position of a fallen Orbital Drop-Pod containing a dead predator, small computer terminal, (to receive the next part of the quest), and maybe some sort of flashing computer-screen saying "AIRLOCK FAILURE" or something like that to explain the predator's death. The player receives the predator's armor/helmet, (I was thinking something more in the style of the first Predator; maybe some stylistic updates to decided upon by you: the modder; unless you were to get me involved in the process. The suit could be balanced with maybe 20-25 DR; repairable with leather armor/combat armor; and a strong sneak skill-boost when crouched, with the helmet offering 4-5 DR: repairable with combat helmets; Leather Helmets; etc.), and one or two weapons, (Wrist-Blade/Spear)Unless you could add a gun in a fashion suitable to a predator... Maybe some kind of bow and arrow; or a wrist-blade launcher... Yeah. That's it. A Wrist-Blade launcher. Maybe add Replacement Blades as an ammo type; preferably with schematics to be made from scrap metal and/or sold by various wandering merchants that stumbled upon the blades on their travels. Back to the quest; we could add a cave somewhere leading down a long rock tunnel; maybe various stonework as seen in AVP. Opening into a large cave (AVP) maybe made as an outside area (to allow for the large size or the cave) with a plain black sky; scattered torch lighting; and a large pyramid-like structure (Once again, AVP) with an electronic switch near the door. Player activates; cave is illuminated by many much-larger torches; machinery sounds are heard; and the player begins fighting off the waves of aliens. I would think something like 3-5 waves; starting with 1 Alien; with the number doubling until the last wave. The Queen should emerge in the last wave after the last Aliens are killed and have maybe 2-3 times the regular Alien health. Once the Queen is destroyed the quest should update with a message leading you into the pyramid; which should become open to the player after the Queen. Just one hallway would be necessary with a large room at the end containing some kind of item or something; maybe to boost the armor/helmet's DR to 35-40/8-10 respectively. Maybe some additional goodies: a sword made from the tail of an Alien; some kind of acid gun/acid blade thing; etc. This just came to me; and I thought it would be so MF'N AWESOME. Anyone with enough modding experience to at least give me the know-how to do this myself should really message me. My Xfire is: adisasterpiece *add 'Predator Mod' or something of that nature in invite; just to be sure that I don't delete it*
V3RM1L10N
You know what? Although you would need to instruct me on the proper use of the G.E.C.K. in order for me to offer any help; I would prefer it if I could. 1) I feel bad having you just make this entire mod solely for my enjoyment, (and for that of those who would download it). 2) I feel bad downloading all of these great mods from Nexus sites without ever contributing anything of my own. Makes me feel like a freeloader... ... ... ... And I do NOT enjoy feeling like a Canadian...
funkidud3
i would recomend you take it slow don't get ahead of yourself when you have enough time retry the vault 74 tutorial but this time go slow, it will take you a couple of hours to complete it its not as simple as you think, nobody is going to go through teamviewer or teamspeak with you for a few hours just learn slowly and try to enjoy it. once you learn that basic tutorial you will aready be ahead of probably one 3rd of the people in these forums if you complete it and will be able to give to the comunity through forums and mods. so take it slow
