Collecting Ideas for a mod I've been meaning to do.

The mod idea is pretty simple. To make Oblivion a bit more interesting, add a random effect to the player which alters their stats, skills, dispositions, or other so that there are good days and there are bad days. Each effect would be its own Ability, and controlled by quest, ability, and item scripts. There would also be a random chance to contract any of the normal Oblivion diseases as well as whatever bonus was set for that day.

There should be atleast 100 or so effects, none of them too powerful, or requiring OBSE scripting. Most would be a simple drain attribute, health, magicka effect, but others might increase or decrease other stats through scripting. There will be some variations based on race and gender so as to mimic some natural cycles, yes, even THOSE cycles (kinda the main reason for the idea actually).

The scripting shouldn't be too much of a problem, but thinking up all those effects can be a bit tough, so I'm looking for some ideas on what effects could be and what to call each of them. Ideally, none of the effects should be too powerful or limiting, and most of them will be temporary in nature.

As this is a "mod I've been meaning to do", there's no guarantee that I'll ever make it work or get it completed, but would still like to have many ideas to work with when I do get the chance.

Perhaps a chance of contracting a mild version of Narcolepsy?

A random chance that you will experience a massive drain on your fatigue and strength so often?

Nothing more than a few seconds, just enough to make you collapse for a few seconds.

Contracting a random disease would probably be triggered like that. Something which would be happening repeatedly throughout the day which causes you to collapse would be a bit too dangerous.

Perhaps some days you have a drained faitgue, especially if a script detectes that you haven't slept much, and you have to buy some tea leaves from the local general store, activate a 'Tea Pot' activator that gives you a cuppa, and drink it to get the fatigue back?

Nothing graphic mind you, just some drains to athletics, health, personality that last a few days and get worse before they get better.

As fun as it might be to have male players experience the debilitating effects of menstruation via their female characters, in particular, the horribly painful kind that some women get, it probably wouldn't encourage usage of the file. There is also only so much that can be achieved without going to excessive lengths.

That's interesting. It would be nice if the random factor is kept to a minimum so it could give the impression that this boons/weaknesses would happen "naturally", wich I think you already plan to do.

Some ideas:

Luck: this could vary every day as the most. It'd be cool if this would fluctuate like in cycles, like you start to get some luck and then it's increasing every day until you die and have to reload, and then it starts to get worse, etc.

Weather/Climate: depending on the weather or the region the player is s/he could awake with weakness or resistance to fire and frost.

Relationship: raising people's disposition or simply talking to people could increase player's personality, while decreasing their disposition towards you or being for long in the wilderness with none to speak to could decrease it.

Moon? Are there moon's cycles in Tamriel?

Jumping/Falling: a bad fall could drain speed, agility, acrobatics, etc, as if the player had difficulties to walk.

I must admit that I'm not very aware of wich functions need OBSE and wich don't, so I don't know if they all are doable.
