FaR2sToNeD
Haha you're welcome, I've literally just got a PC good enough to mess with ugrids so it was a happy coincidence I noticed this thread. Glad everything's working, fingers crossed it continues! Kudos for letting me know it worked ^^
SovietSailor
And.....well, now it isn't. Hm. I cannot fathom what the problem is.
SovietSailor
Can you post an extract of the (MERGED.esp=1) so I can see what mods are involved?pastebin.com will suffice. Link it here.EDITED: Took me a while t o find the old thread where i posted the needed data.http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/926725-ugridstoload9-causes-massive-ctd-problems/page-3&do=findComment&comment=7822769 There, you will find a full out discussion surrounding this issue and laid out as I put it tested and verified functional. The reason I want to see your data is, due to facts that at "that time" I was unaware of scripts effecting weathers patterns VIA chain links with in mods. Id the master files listed in your Merged patch.esp contain any weather alterations, this can be adjusted by another means while doing the same thing. But, I need to know before hand so to give you the exact advice you require. If in doubt? look at my pic's I have posted here and other sites. I am always looking for that edge, the finite line where things cross over or just the right balance.....The sweet spot in programing any game or software Environment. If I can get others to follow through with things, we can get a sense of what needs to be done every time, but on different machines.( "Okay, I'll bite." ), brush your teeth first, ok? kitty I think I'll try your method and see how that works. Now, are you saying that weather mods might have something to do with this?
Purr4me
wheather mods ad Bloom effects so distances will vary, that's all really, but if you do as I laid it out, and be careful what you augment the games setting at, you can end up with such a wonderful experience in a very old game with out all the junk added on top. Warning ,do not repeat the same thing twice on a single esp plugin. why? because if you do, and install a mod that adjust live action screen properties, you can end up with vivid imaging way beyond the cards ability to handle it, some cards will pop ! In hospital MRI division PC settings for imaging are very extreme, we can on the fly Enhance it with the key boards input, down to a micron scale.well, this may be just a game, but it is a process, and all processes will do as you tell it to. so just try it once in only a single file. it loads at the bottom of the pile. it will work also as an esm but then things get dicey too. Too sharp. there are examples In my own gallery here.kitty
SovietSailor
Alright looking through that thread, i have a couple questions. 1: Where you mention setting the games "overall settings", do you mean this to be in the geck and if so, where would it be? 2: What do you mean by reloading saves? I thought this was for an esp? Thank you for taking the time to reply, in any event!
Purr4me
once you make a file such as this, this is your personal rendering file, so, as it must follow, all your saved games must have this data running, other wise the saved games will not even load. it can be a ini file, or it can be a set of mods, or it can be just a single particular set of codes set up to run the game with that gets placed into the data base the game runs on, that data base is your saved game file. if you change the code, / remove said code from the game, chances are, the data base will fault, not load. an esp can be a very good friend, and it can be your worst enemy too. it is all in how you program it. An esp runs the show, an esm just give the road to run on, but all the gas is in the esp. in the geck, before you set up an esp as active, at the top, there is a preference tile drop down selection app. in here, when you set things up, you can set it to full throttle but I learned the sliders on the left should never quite hit the top of the scale, 3/4 of the way is fine or you will have invisible water every where. I once had a set of screen shots loaded or posted that shows how all this is done. I'll have to see if I can find them. you set the prefs once before activating the pointed esp, the one your going to Enlist as your slave, your personal graphics addition.once activated ,you go into the geck and load up all the world spaces LOD sections and slightly increase things, whats is required is any item is edited in each world space, an object or item, or sky, or weather, just something in each one, all world spaces , exterior and interior.set the auto save to 30 minute intervals so it's not a nag screen bugging you. when you have gone thru all spaces possible, hard save there, then before exiting, redo the Preferences again, save and now exit.load that esp last ,what the magic happen. later on, if you like what you see and decide to get Brave, you can add on fallout configuration application and it can tweak the heck out of the game, only now !, when yo do it, you have like ten fold more power so watch out ! I have blown 3 video cards 1 ATI and 2 Nvidia , expensive lessons. kitty
SovietSailor
Yipe, I'm not sure I'm up for messing around with stuff like that. Alright, so I've developed a kinda'-sorta' workaround for the issue, but first, I'll go into specifics on the issue. Playing through the quest "By A Campfire on the Trail" (the quest where Sunny teaches you to make stuff from a campfire), I go up into the Cemetary, kill the Bloatflys, and so on. Coming back down, I save my game in what is Wilderness 16,0 in the GECK. I then reload that save; upon reloading, I find that behind me (usually behind me) is some manner of beast that isn't supposed to be there. Usually, its a deathclaw walking away towards the North Road; sometimes, its a pair of deathclaws ganging up on a cazadore, still others, its a cazadore buzzing around and attacking people. No matter what, I've seen it happen ONLY in this cell. My "workaround" is thus: I save and reload in the cemetary, rather than further down. Reloading that save, I can go down and save/reload in the cell and it seems OK.
SovietSailor
Sorry for the double post, but assuming that I'm unable to use uGrids for whatever reason, I'd like to ask a question regarding a particular variable. Attached is.....eugh. An ugly sight. What variable ought I modify in order to make that distance load, without having modified uGrids, if possible? Purr4me
In the geck, look or load that cell, in the cell as tagged on the left col um, look in the right column, what your looking for is spawn markers, they will be blue statics, but the search term at the top of the right side of the geck is "marker" check the box there too, this will only list just items that contain that name. leave this that way. watch carefully the right side as you scroll the left side. Back up ere a bit, on the left side, once you have clicked on the cell in question and it is high lighted, at the top of that Window, there is a word for (Location) click that, this will align the data on the left according to cell structure so the next up or down cells are next to each other. on a grid, such as the cells are divided up, each Location is a section of the map, you interested in the grids separations area's. why?....because if you can only see a spawn behind you and that spawn is not attacking you, it is in another cell, not in your cell, but you can see the spawned target. IT may not see you. IF you can isolate the cell that contains the spawns, there is a script that runs for that cell ,specific scripts on load. if you die in game, and the game is set to render high resolution, on rebirth, the rez will default to 800x600 at first then change when you move back too your settings, in fallout 3, this does not change, it stays in the lower rez. But, re recant? none of this has anything to do with view in distance. It has to do with spawn rates. so which subject are you after? kitty

What variable ought I modify in order to make that distance load, without having modified uGrids, if possible?I will make you an esp, it's a lot faster to do it this way instead. OR this: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/926725-ugridstoload9-causes-massive-ctd-problems/&do=findComment&comment=7459334 ORyou will need to wait: I can only use remote access to another machine so I have to wait for that machine to come back online.
