testingone Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 (edited) First of all: I do not speak English as a home language and had , hopefully understandable to translate this text. Probably will be one or the other die laughing about what was translated . But I hope that what I wanted to say, is still to be understood? What is it about : Many years ago I became aware of a series of books by author Markus Heitz, the me today is still fascinated , as it was then . Only a few of his books have been translated into other languages , as I have seen , which is a shame . One of his series of books is likely to be one or the other well known: the dwarves , War of the Dwarves and so on. Unknown but very very good is the " Ulldart - book series" that has brought me the idea for this modification request. One of the protagonists of this book series and his friends are devious to another continent and has to try to cope . Not with the good will of all the people - there are indeed strangers and do not belong over here ! One of the residents , with the name Anarvaten , is the reason for my request. He is one who reads stories in Inns and Taverns and gets paid for it . I would like to have a modification in which an NPC , as well Anarvaten just for a few coins a story aloud . He could also read an existing book, as the bards sing tales. He could give quests where you have to find new books that he reads, you could give him a book from its collection to read and so on. But that is not constantly sings or speaks a bard in between, a tavern a few NPC's as beiweg and a bard, the ONLY soft music could perhaps be useful, plays, WITHOUT singing? The opportunities were there, but I can not implement such a thing, I just have ideas in mind  EDITH: Ok, here is an Translation Mistake. I want to say this: "Unfortunately I can not install anything or program, but I am not familiar with the appropriate software. Unfortunately I only have the ideas for such a thing in my head ..." I´m so sorry for the misunderstod... What do you think? Would this modification interesting or not? Who could do such a thing? Edited May 26, 2014 by testingone
notmyhome Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Basic implementation of the NPC would not be difficult; the part that will be troublesome is finding a voice actor to tell these stories. There are not many people with the skill, equipment and free time to do something like that. You can always try; once the NPC himself has been implemented (using a token voice of course) you might find someone from the Voice Actor's guild who feels intrigued by your idea.
anonimouze123 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I don't know about custom books, but remember that lots of people throughout the game tell "stories" about the lore to explain whats going on (the greybeards in the beginning, for example). Maybe you could have storytellers tell combinations of dialogue already in the game, like have an old man NPC tell you "the Legend of Alduin" using combinations of Esbern's dialogue, or "the Tale of the Dragonborn" using stuff the greybeards say. Just a thought.
