theuseless
well, first you will want to get the Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM). That will allow you to organize your mods in proper load order. Then follow the instructions in the mod's readme. This usually requires you to unzip the file, then copy the contents into your bethesda/oblivion/data folder. In the obmm, click the little checkbox next to your mod's name. It is always advised to install only one mod at a time and make sure they play for a few hours of gameplay. I don't know of a single person that would argue against that (unless they're a pirate  ) The load order means that the last (bottom) mod gets loaded last. The last (bottom) file will over write any files previously added by other mods. This is the usual cause of conflicts. There are tools and tutorials available, just check the wiki. Basically, start out small, adding one at a time. Generally, you want to load in this order: all esm's are loaded firstOblivion patch (I have shivering Isles so I use the 1.2.404)weapons, armours, clothes, books, other itemshouse modsyour main homequestscosmetic It is fairly simple, just follow the instructions provided in the readmes. If you don't have a program to unzip the 7z, zip, or rar file, look up "7z" as it is free and amazing. Hope this gets you started in the right direction. Remember, the wiki is your friend, theuseless Links:wikiobmm -edit- need to drink less (or just not juggle fallout/oblivion) lol. Fixed the post. Sorry. ptbptb
well, first you will want to get the FOMM (fallout mod manager).I do believe we are in a Oblivion forum. Perhaps he'd be better off with the Oblivion mod manager.
bben46
I have a set of help files for people who are not computer geeks and are new to mods. They include downloading, extracting (unzipping) installing and activating mods. I have included a simple mod to practice on and instructions for installing and using 7-zip. If you are interested, click on the highlighted link below to be taken to the site where they are kept. I recommend starting with #1 and working your way through them. http://s1.zetaboards.com/TheStormRavenLibrary/forum/256092/ If you use them I would appreciate some feedback as to what needs improvement and what works for you.
