davidx4
I'm in the "topics" tab right now, but unlike new "responses," I'm not 100% sure I'm doing it right. I noticed if I right click the "add topics" or "choices" section, click add topic, then right click in the "select topic" menu, I can create a new topic, but I'm not sure that's the correct way to do it because the new topic is never reflected in the column to the left:http://www.davidjscott.com/misc/geckTopic.PNG (example) The G.E.C.K doesn't allow me to edit topics in the "Dialog Tree." Instead, every time I try to edit, I get a pop-up box reading, "For now, edit topics in the topics tab." :wallbash: Anyone know how to create topics and edit them? pkleiss
To add new topics, you must do it in a quest. So, make a new quest. Then go to the topics tab. Right click in the left column headed by "Editor ID" and select "Add Topic". You will get the "Select Topic" box to popup. Right click inside that box and select "New". You will then be given a blank field in the list to enter the name of your new topic. Enter it and press "Enter". Your new topic should appear in the left most colum of the topics tab. You can now enter infos for it. If you are making dialogue for NPCs, you will need to add the hardcoded "GREETING" topic to your list as well as this topic is what automatically initiates dialogue with NPCs.
