alonsomartinez
I played Oblivion yesterday and as oon as I hit play the usual Bethesda logo came up and then it crashed.I disabled all mods and tried again and it still crashed.I ran conflict detector on Oblvion Mod Manager and i disabled all conflicting mods and tried again and yet another crash.I got angry today and just deleted everything from the directory and I mean everything and I just reinstalled it and It still crashed.Im guessing that the disc isnt scratched since I can still open the setup/uninstall exe but I really need some help on getting Oblvion to work again. If anybody has any info on making it work let me know. :thanks:
Balakirev
You're saying that with no mods at all, Oblivion crashed, right? Please respond. Also, tell us whether you're running the add-ons, and how much memory your computer has.

Balakirev
Wow... I just tried it again and it worked.I didnt even change anything. All I did was sign onto facebook and now it works.Hopefully this doesnt happen again I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but...the fact that it has happened several times recently would seem to argue strongly for it happening again, at least until you figure out the problem. What I meant above was whether you're running Tribunal, and Bloodmoon. And the amount of memory you have would help to know, too.

Right click on My Computer. Under Computer, it should list how much RAM you've got. That's what we want.
alonsomartinez
1 Gb ram
Balakirev
1 Gb ram Leaving all other possibilities to one side, Oblivion is a maybe-will-run game on a 1 GB RAM machine. You should just be able to get it going, but it won't be fast, and it will probably fail some of the time--especially if you've got other Windows activities taking up memory (which they regularly do). For what it's worth, I would suggest upgrading your RAM. RAM's cheap these days, and you can get somebody at a computer store to put it in for you. I'd suggest buying 2 more GB. That will not only let you run Oblivion safely, quickly, and smoothly, but as a bonus you'll be able to run player-made modifications if you choose to do so tht help customize and improve the game. It's entirely up to you, of course. :)
