zprospero
If you run into any problems with scripting feel free to PM me. I had to learn it the scripting language scratch too, but I had theadvantage of being a computer programmer in real life, so I knowthat it's always helpful to have someone to explain when somethinggoes insanely wrong for no apparent reason. zprospero
@jme144 I'll look out for your PM. @L33Nexus Now, if I can just get someone to make me a real-life one... :P @Dagon How many of these NPCs are going to be unique, fleshed out characters? With the DB, every single original character in the DB had fullback-stories and unique character traits. I think it's why I, personally, prefer the DB so much over other factions. I also think it is why they restricted it to a single sanctuary, they didn't have to elaborate on every assassin in the guild. Perhaps you are restricted to one sanctuary for the greater portionof the questline, so we can focus on making those set characters engaging? Then later, when you gain access to the other sanctuaries you will see somegeneric 'assassin' characters wandering about in addition to some specific fleshedout characters for each sanctuary. This way we could make it feel immersive and broad, but wewould be able focus on a developing a particular sanctuary for a while?
jme144
Actually the way i was looking at it *and picturing it when i was making story line* was in a castle o.o it seems fitting for a good assassians since they are good they do not have to hide from public... just scare the crap outta them lol *****update*****I just read they are underground so scratch the castle and i will forget about it but this adds SO many more ideas to me b/c my dream is to have an underground house irl XDD so yea i can come up with ALOT .... DagonTheranis
Take a look at the first post, and you'll se what the sanctuaries are going to be like.Zero, I don't want to flesh out every NPC with a detailed backstory, just the main ones. However I don't want the others to be generic either. Each will have a proper name, unique face and some will be able to give you info on your current target. The headquarters in Chorrol will be the most fleshed out Sanctuary, though, as the Hassan Incarnate and two High councillors will be there, and it will have the most NPCs.In terms of fleshing it out, only a few chars will have that. They will be the leader of each sanctuary, his right hand man, and the six members of the high council, Hassan Incarnate included. It's still a lot, but I can certainly write histories for most of them, even though I'm learning how to use the CS to actively help as well. jme144
ok either way the storylines fit the surruoundings so imma just edit post above :P BTW how many quests you want it to have?
DagonTheranis
Around 15-20 quests, but we should get the basic outline of the questline sorted before we make any more quests.
zprospero
That's pretty much what I thought you meant, Dagon. I don't think full fleshing out is necessary to make acharacter engaging, sometimes it's just little secretsor oddities. Like Roderic Pieranne, from the Arena in the IC, hehas only a few lines but I remember him clearly because he's having an affair with Irene Metrick. Or that alchemist in Skingrad. So, we could still probably give many of them little oddities,I was more concerned in terms of custom dialogue.
DagonTheranis
You and I could probably whisk up the dialogue in a couple of Days, zero. However let's leave that until nearer completion time.
