Keyboard Input Scrambled

Hey all,

 

so I've never run into this one before. For some reason the input from my keyboard is scrambled. Q=A, "=% that sort of thing. I have modded the game but am not new to the process and am very confused regarding how this happened. And, to state the obvious (as I'm using the same keyboard on the same computer to type this) the keyboard is fine and other programs receive the correct input.

So, can anyone offer any clarification? Is there an ini file somewhere that's gotten scrambled? Do I need to reinstall the fallout_default.ini or something for instance? Anyhoo, thanks for the attention.

EDIT : I deleted the fallout.ini, falloutprefs.ini and fallout_default.ini, then had steam verify the integrity of the game cache or however they phrase it. No dice. I'm still getting gibberish from the keyboard. Sigh... I'm procrastinating on a full re-install. Oh well.

Is this only in the game? - If so I would suspect a foreign language mod has been installed that uses direct key scan codes for something.

 

Do you have any 3rd party program that allows for customizing keys - such as Autohotkey? If so, check the key assignments for the game - or disable any custom key assignments.

It was the only game and I have no idea what happened. All of the mods I'm using were installed on earlier play-throughs and I never had an issue. I did manage to get the problem solved, though. I uninstalled the game and then reinstalled it. I thought it was going to nuke my saved games with 'em being modded, but after some ini tweaks it was actually good to go. So I'm happy as a pig in poop and all is well. :)
