Advertising getting annoying.

Hey, I have been noticing when I am on the nexus download sites to get mods, there is some very annoying advertisements that usually have sound on. I know this is a pet peeve, but I am getting frustrating when I have my volume low and these advertisements blast stuff like "CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'VE WON!!!!". Sound off would be preferred if there is a way for you guys to restrict the sound from playing.

Yes, next time it shows up. They are random. Again: This is a pet peeve and if nothing can really be done about it that is fine, I guess I will just keep the volume off.

If you have Firefox, there is a way where you can actually use the website and completely disable the ads.

 

You would need to get the Noscript firefox addon.

 

Then you can disable the "blacktreegaming.com" feature on this server.

 

It gets rid of the box on the top right.

Yes, but doing so also prevents the site from earning money from those ads and being able to afford maintaining the servers. This site has always been much better than most about removing "bad" ads, so there really isn't any reason to complain. Ad supported internet is just kinda how the world works. If you don't pay for it in one way, you will probably pay for it in another.
