mechine
hahaha that's nice. Depends on what you changed. http://geck.bethsoft.com/index.php/Weapons this is the GECK weapons page. But if you're messing about you should have the GECK main page in favorites, because there's a bunch of stuff you can learn there. However, if you're just wanting to change certian things about weapons, fire rate, spread, damage, you know the numbers an whatnot, an not actually create new versions or brand new custom weapons, then FO3edit is a lot more easy to use than geck for quick edits. There's a very nice version of the 200 page guide to FO3edit, which is called webasized or something, CSB took that huge 200 page guide an broke it down into something we can actually use, which loads up with internet explorer or firefox, so it's not so much as a guide as a tool that shows you how to use another tool. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9616 Thank CSB Another good reason to use FO3edit, besides that if you followed the guide by CSB you'd have 50% less crashes or more, is that you can set any fire rate you want on semi auto weapons, while keeping the animations an vats fire rate the same. I mean if you ask me I hardly ever want to actually change a attack animation mult, because it usually messes up the vats, but I digress... When you are doing edits on a weapon you want to do them quick an test them many times while changing things, an you just can't really do that with GECK. It drives you crazy because you have to load up an wait an all that, just to change one mod or one thing in a mod. FO3edit you can just load the plug in then edit the numbers. Things that come to mind, that you messed up. 1. Vats chance to hit % 2. Projectile settings in GECK 3.Weapon skill type 4.Weapon spread However, you know, it's not such a easy thing to hit anything in Fallout 3 with a ranged. For one thing the engine is set up to run VATS with a distance factor, which means anything over 25 feet or so is hard to hit, or impossible even. VATS - MCE.espVatsLongerDistance.espPrecision_AutoAim_6000.esp VATS-MCE.esp changes Vats so that it doesn't so much work off the distance to target factor, and more relies on the players small guns skill or whatever skill for the weapon, Vats at long distance makes it so you can VATS targets from way far away, but not too far. Then the Auto aim I use was the one which doesn't disable auto aim completely. The reasons why is because all the weapon meshes barrels are aimed at different places depending on how the weapon is held. You can disable autoaim, but you run into 3rd person wacky shots, then if auto aim is turned up too much like in vanilla you get wacky shots in 1st or 3rd. Also after you level up a bit, an get some of the perks going you get better at shooting. Like using the sniper perk, an commando, then gunslinger, on top of VATS-MCE then head shots are like 90% at any distance it seems. However getting to that point is hard. When you start out you are just weak. I've heard people saying they couldn't hit anything because the bullet would rise at great distances. But you know to tell the truth I've never really seen it. I do know that when the target is far out, I'm usually aimmed at the center of mass anyway, which is the chest, so that may rise up a bit. All the players seem to take the stance of aim a bit low. I"ve never really had a problem with it. There's a mod for checking distance too. It's called range finder. You click a button an then enter the scope an range the target when you exit the scope. I just use it to find out if they will see me or not. So what did you change? Figure out anything yet? Just keep working with it, after sometime you'll get better at weapons. The trick is to keep trying new things an see what works. I base most of my weapons off the vanilla settings. Most tend to use around 30 damage for a pistol, then 60-120 for large calibr weaponz. But then like something that spits out 20 shots a second, isn't going to be fun at high damage, it's like instant death. So it's a grey area. So long as the weapon feels good in the testing then it's all good you could use whatever to get there.
