skinnytecboy Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Ok, I'm googled out here.. Does anyone know how to add custom audio for a Dwarven Centurion? I'm talking about their movement FX not dialogue. Let me explain a little further: I've created a unique and fully voiced Centurion NPC who can talk and interact just fine. My only issue is that his default FX levels for walking, steaming etc are much too loud. All I really want to do is turn him down a bit. I know that I could extract default audio files and adjust them, but doing so would affect all centurions (I think). So far the only file that anything points to is "npc_dwarvencenturion_conscious_lp.wav" which is pointed to by centurion audio template (I've extracted and adjusted this). I can not find anything that links or points to their general FX concerning movement. If anyone can help, it would be appreciated.
simsrocks808 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Alright. I dont know how you can specifically do that, but take a look at the OPTIONAL files on skytest:http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/10175/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D10175&pUp=1one of them alters the sound of spider footsteps, maybe you can look at that, and see how it's done to do something similar with the centurion? Thats the best I can think of.Good luck!

My problem is that I don't wish to affect the rest of the game. I just want to know how to point my Dwarven NPC to audio files that I've created without changing every other Dwarven NPC I've worked out how to change the general ambient FX for a dwarven centurion, but for the life of me I can't seem to find how to affect their general sounds such as; walking, attack, steam idle etc. Nothing in the Creation Kit seems to point to any particular audio file (other than "npc_dwarvencenturion_conscious_lp.wav"). To explain a little more, here's what I did: Duplicated and renamed Dwarven Centurion RaceDuplicated and renamed Dwarven Centurion audio templateDuplicated and renamed "npc_dwarvencenturion_conscious_lp.wav"and pointed to it in my audio template.Duplicated and renamed EncDwarvenCenturion and pointed him to my own audio template above. The result is a fully functional and talking dwarven centurion. The downside, his movement is louder than his dialogue. If push comes to shove, I guess I'll have to live with it. But I was just hoping that someone out there may know the answer. It could be that I am simply missing something fairly obvious.
skinnytecboy Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) I've uploaded a video of the npc in question. Hopefully, this will highlight my issues more completely.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9eAuNT6_Js Edited May 30, 2014 by skinnytecboy
