hyper11001
Upon stepping off the boat and planting your feet on the soil of this new world you gaze around at the site of utter grandeur. People all wearing exquisite well-crafted finery, Soldiers adorned with perfected armour trimmed with such expertise to match any master smith in Cyrodiil, buildings and structures all stunningly build that at a first glance there shows no sign of social class. You realise that this strange city you have entered is nothing like you've ever seen, perhaps it's time see what exactly it has to offer. http://blog.firenzelodging.it/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/hdr-florence.jpg Introduction First off I've noticed that while surfing through a few sites and checking out some of the big and most rated mods I've not noticed any Renaissence style mods that have caught my attention (apart from seeing one Renaissance 'Gothic Style' Castle mod in which I didn't download so I won't mention). And I was thinking it would be cool to add something like that into it, and what better than to add a city full of 14th-16th century culture! (To be honest with you guys the idea was also boosted more when I played Assassin's Creed 2, I simply loved all the architecture and atmosphere of it, even the fashion sense!) (Before I go into it, if your into the whole research thing try looking at some information on Wiki) Click here. Where does this lead to? I was thinking that to get to this city you will have to travel on a boat which would be stationed in the Anvil docks. Once you land you'll appear on a small fishing pier, when you get through the gates you'll be free to roam the city. So, to the point? When your wandering around you can ask the citizens or the guards about where you are and whats happening. You will learn this strange city is called Poesilia, located on an island far out to sea. In fact the island is miles east of Summerset Isle as a rough calculation. Poesilia takes up the bulk of the island with only a few mines and a fishing pier outside the City. Many of the citizens would be wandering around the city like most do, but you'll notice their strange clothing: http://sachachua.com/notebook/pics/renaissance.jpg Even the guards are not like your usual Imperial Watchmen: http://www.renaissancesoldier.com/events/images/callotdrill.jpg And the architecture? Don't get me started: http://www.essential-architecture.com/STYLE/VeneziaOspedale.jpg And of coarse to add more interaction and immersion it would be fun to add sidequests with the City as well as Shops and Merchants which let you gain access to many to new goods such as Weapons, Armor, Clothing, Books (on Poesilia's history and other subjects), Food and maybe even your own Renaissance Manor! Other Before I get cynical comments on how this couldn't be done I'd like to point out that i'm no modder (using TES Construction Set to edit NPC's isn't much lol) and that i'm only suggesting it for an experienced Modding team, BUT if any of you ARE interested and are able to do the miracles of creating new textured buildings and NPC's and all that... Then let me know, i'd love to help, and if I can't then I hope this thing comes out one day  .
hyper11001
Well thanks to Oblivion being a fantasy rpg we don't have to worry about historical accuracy but I suppose naked statues aren't that bad. (I mean that in an artistic sense!)
Vagrant0
Well thanks to Oblivion being a fantasy rpg we don't have to worry about historical accuracy but I suppose naked statues aren't that bad. (I mean that in an artistic sense!)No, but people will object to an image of those statues that fill the page, combined with a comment that could easily offend. Art is art, but nudity, shouldn't be posted in the forums.
knightofvain
1st picture looks like assassins creed 2, and yes the moderator is right naked statues isn't exactly needed in oblivion, people have gone far enough with some mods already. hyper11001
Yeah I don't like the idea of naked statues thats why I said it's a good job Oblivions a fantasy game, they could easily be replaced by vanilla statues?
