VIadmir Posted January 13, 2010 Share Posted January 13, 2010 Well, when i heard about the FCOM convergence i thought "I must have it!". After 3 unsuccessful installations i gave up, and decided to settle for OOO + MMM. I did my research and i think i installed everything properly. This is the step-by-step process of what i did. I started with a clean install, followed by SI, KoTN and the SI patch (SHIVERING ISLES PATCH v1.2.0416 ). I then installed 1.33 OOO and patched it up with 1.34 beta 5. Then i proceeded to installing MMM 3.7 beta 3 (followed all the instructions. Extracted the "bsa" file into oblivion/data and took all the necessary .esp files from the .7zip file + add-ons. Used the BOSS and obmm to figure out and sort the load order. THE PROBLEM: about once every 20-30 minutes the game crashes. I do not know why i haven't noticed any environmental similarities prior to the crash. If i had made a save shortly before the crash, the file becomes corrupted. But this is not the real problem. I do not mind occasional crashed once in a while, they are usually expected when you combine different mods + upgrades. The real problem i am experiencing, and it may be tied in with the crashes is that the "Ghost Apparitions", when they pass through me, paralyze me indefinitely. The spell timer runs out in about 2.5 hours after being paralyzed, but the effect does not disappear, no matter how much i wait. This is clearly a problem with the MMM but i do not know how to fix it. My load order is as follows: Oblivion.esm Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esm . I have been trying to play this amazing game for so long (this is my third day of installations. I literally spent the majority of yesterday and the day before trying to get FCOM to work) and it is very frustrating that i still cant enjoy it. VIadmir Posted January 13, 2010 Author Share Posted January 13, 2010 Okay, so i tired reinstalling MMM, this time i installed it through OBMM, rather than manually. I than reloaded my savegame with the ghostly apparition and the same problem still occurs. This is a little frustrating since i cannot do KoTN questline or go to any dungeon with ghostly apparitions.... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I found a semi-pernament solution, to simply use the "kill" console command, but i dont want to have to save every 10 seconds i am in a dungeon, and fear that one of those things will pop-up behind me and paralyze me again. Maigrets Posted January 18, 2010 Share Posted January 18, 2010 That bug was fixed many versions ago. But the length of time you should remain paralysed depends on your Willpower. At low levels you could be down for 30 seconds or more, but as your Willpower increases you should only be affected for a very short time and if your have high Willpower you should only be knocked down and being able to get right back up. For a bit of extra help getting FCOM running properly go here for a beginner's guide. Once you have it all installed correctly there shouldn't be the issues you're having. EDIT: I didn't have the patience to wait 30 seconds to see what happens. But the timer showed me 300 seconds at start and the paralyze ended at 270. I have exactly the asme issue and its really annoying! how do i fix that? even when the thing is dead i get paralize for life just by touching it! i cant even continue the dungeon cuz the corpse there! ps. i have no idea about the bash patch, im using wrye 287, ive tried merging it but that only makes the game not load saved games and i dont really wanna start a new one now! EvilOssie Posted February 3, 2014 Share Posted February 3, 2014 Waking this up...I have the same problem with being permanently paralyzed (I've waited upwards of 5 minutes Real Time and my char was still down). I have both OOO and MMM up to date, bash patch, etc etc etc. Maigrets say that the bug was fixed some time ago...I'd like to know what/how it was fixed, 'cause it isn't happening in my game. My only solution is to TGM whenever I first hear that gawdawful wail from the Apparition, which isn't a whole lot of fun.
