JustFluxz
Is there anyway to make it so that you can have more than 255 mods other than combining a few esp with tes5 edit?
IceDolphin
No. If there is I highly recommended you don't attempt it, the limit is there for a reason. You might not even make it to 255 if your pc can't handle it.
Saerileth
No. The reason the limit is 256 is because Skyrim enumerates the indices of it's plugins (and the first two digits of every formID within that mod) and stores them in two hexadecimal digits, in other words 8 bits. The highest 8-bit number you can represent is 255. This is probably buried so deeply in the engine it would be impossible to change. Why Bethesda chose to use such an arbitrarily small data type is beyond me, but that hardly matters now. Edited May 30, 2014 by Saerileth
JustFluxz
Regarding the first comment, Trust me I can reach that far many mods, I run a laptop with enb's and numerous graphics mods with very decent performance, but u understand why there needs to be a limit but I wish there was a way to maybe move it to 355 or something like that.
