Yarkryl

Firstly, I'd just like to put it out there that I'm not a modder, so I'd just like to put this idea called Yarkryl out to you guys. It's something that I haven't seen in Oblivion so far. There's more out there than never-ending land. Where are the seas? And the landscape around the seas? I'm the kind of person who loves heights, and the ocean. This mod idea would let people have a taste of living on 'the edge (of the world) in a way.

Yarkryl

About Yarkyrl:

Yarkyrl is an unknown coastal region, which may or may not be a part of Tamriel or the world.

The name Yarkryl comes from the local inhabitants, which are a tribe of Black Skinned Argonians. The Yarkryl found a magic door a long time ago, which led to an abandoned city, and have since created a society within the landscape which is therefore named Yarkryl. The Argonian Yarkryl tribe have a known enemy who they are at war with.

Access to Region: Main Quests:

(Please note that these are theory ideas):

Gaining access to enter the region will lead to either of two main quest paths: So would you choose fame, or power and megawealth?

1. KILL ALL WHO STAND IN YOUR WAY (Evil standing)-

Finding the cave yourself, and completing a quest given by an NPC, who wants to explore and dominate the inhabitants and claim the land as his own. By doing this, you will be treated as an 'invader' by the inhabitants and killed on sight. But on the other hand you will gain huge amounts of loot, and wealth through slaughtering the population and you will be able to overthrow the wanna-be NPC leader who you start with too, therefore ruling your own colony, and the opportunity to become allied with the Yarkryl's sworn enemy.

2. DIPLOMAT (Good standing)-

Through starting a quest offered by one of 5 different NPCs located in a few of the cities. The NPC's will each give you quests to complete so you gain favor with the inhabitants of Yarkryl, and will be given the opportunity to move freely within the city, to do quests, become revered as a hero with the clan, and explore all the lore, and exclusive benefits that Yarkryl has to offer.

Yarkryl is more than meets the eye, so be prepared for what is to come!

Visiting Yarkryl:-

Entering the region will be through exploring a (yet to be named) strange cave at the base of a rugged mountain within Tamriel, and completing a quest which unlocks the strange door. Entering the strange door takes you to the region, and you enter a submerged cave - Within the submerged cave entrance you cross the water on a boat, which is rowed by a dark skinned Argonian NPC named Alvestam.

(Please note the image above is NOT taken in-game, it is an image to show as example of what it may look like)

[Once you enter the city, fast travel is available so you don't have to do the above]

Areas of Yarkryl City (To Be Considered):

(I must firstly say I am sorry to have not included in-game pictures to detail exactly what it would look like, any images displayed are for display purposes only to show the concept)

Yarkryl Depths -

This is the cave area you enter through before you reach the city ahead.

Yarkryl City [interior dungeon based area]-

The region of Yarkryl includes a city which is plainly named 'Yarkryl City', which is a subterranean city within an underground cave system that is shared with the water system that leads to an ocean. From where you begin at the boat dock, the path to the city spirals upward from water level, and the environment phases from a cave setting and broadens out in width and raises in height ending up as an underground ruined city.

The general look of the city may look of the city is at approx ranged between 20 foot high ceiling to 35 foot depending on the area the player is in. This will be the initial quest hub, until you are needed elsewhere. There will be seperate chambers of the city for living quarters, and seperate for other services such as shops/inns etc, however they will be linked via tunnels for easy movement between each. The 'rich' or more powerful live closer to the back of the city where I explain our next area.

Cliffs of Yarkryl [Exteriorish, leads to other areas in the region of Yarkryl]-

http://www.environment.gov.au/heritage/places/world/shark-bay/images/dig000899.jpg

(From outside in the ocean, looking upon the city, The Cliffs of Yarkryl would look something like this)-

Some legends given by certain Yarkryl detail of deep gouges in the cliff face by incredible machinery, where they say that the former civilisation was invaded by powerful enemies determined to invade the city from the ocean. The Yarkryl have altered the gouges to become large expanded liveable semi-caverns... and they also give the inhabitants "some fresh air". The 'important' NPC's mainly occupy this area, and quests are also given here for the area below called 'Nightmare Tunnel'.

Nightmare Tunnel-

This is an 'instance' type area where you must enter via a quest and given a key by an important elder of the city. You are instructed to enter the cave behind the locked door and you are to clear it of the vicious creatures that have inhabited and spawned within before the Yarkryl inhabited. Some Yarkryl's rumor to their younger population that they will be thrown into 'Nightmare Tunnel' and left to rot or be eaten alive in the dark if they don't abide by city rules, but in all honesty it has been closed to protect their population because the threat within is too great for them to handle due to their army battling elsewhere... until you come along.

Yarkryl Plateau- The land above the cliff. Ruins, fierce creatures, more await here. This will be reachable either by a Teleport spell initially, or another way (Refer to QUERY note at bottom of post).

Submerged Tunnels- A strange tube tunnel system. There are two sections of the Tunnels:

1. The 'Ascension Chamber' where a Guardian named Noxos protects access to and from the Submerged Tunnels. You can either kill it and go on your own into the next section, or be given access from quests to go into the next section if you are worthy, where you can accompany an army of 10 to take part in gauntlet battles.

2. The other section of the Submerged Tunnels is 'The Path of Least Resistance'. This area of the Submerged Tunnels connects through under the ocean floor. It is believed to be linked to an island that has inhabitants which are hostile to the Yarkryl guarding what lays ahead from being reached. Battles occur here often between the Yarkryl and their enemy. The Gauntlet battles take place here - although you can avoid them by taking alternate routes through to the Island ahead.

Neomorphosis- This is the name of the island connected by the Submerged Tunnels, which has inhabitants who are at war with the Yarkryl. Are these inhabitants the former owners of the ancient city that the Yarkryl inhabit? What is on this Island?...... Only time, and questing will tell.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Query as I'm not sure, with something I'd love to see in this mod if it's not already in game already by someones work-

*I have also though about the possibility of being able to take 'flightpaths' [think of getting on a gryphon in WoW and flying over an area] into other areas such as Neomorphosis Island or Yarkryl Plateau as a means of transport to and from Cliffs of Yarkryl (If this is possible).

I'd like to also see this mod include new armor sets, creatures, weapons, give players different quests that challenge them differently in some aspects.

Thats all I have to put out there so far because it's late at night. I will add more as I can think of, my head is exploding with ideas for this mod.

So far I hope you like it. Please feel free to comment.

People have tried this "I'm gonna make a mod but I'm not gonna tell anyone anything" thing before, but all it did was get a lot of people annoyed and eventually an admin stepped in.

Maybe just stop playing games with the potential help and just say what it is you want. This sort of thing just drives away people who would otherwise be interested.

I agree with kie it's much more likely to get a response... think of it from another persons point of view.

Hmm, whats this (read) oh CBA to contact... the reason? were helping you why should we do all the chasing to find out about the mod.

my theory, just get the idea out there and you'll find the ball starts rolling theres some very talanted minds here and there quick ideas are enough to amaze a person looking for help :D

Alright. Well you guys are indeed right, I am just not familiar with this community, so I must say that I am sorry to have approached the matter like I have done.

I'm not totally good with words to make my mod idea come out so you'll understand, so I will try and write it up so you all can know.

Apologies again.

Great! i'd love to see a cave like in picture 1...

It cannot be done just by editing land unfortuneately but... it can work because if somone can use a cave interior but yet still give it the effect of an open mouth cave by using the linkable corridors like in the underdark mod.

Linkable Corridors- They have no door its just where you run into it and it kind of teleports you to the next room asif you where walking down the corridor into the next area :P

I've stuffed around with a tutorial of the CS, and created a cave mouth, which I guess I could say its similar to that, by only 40% lol.

I was thinking of perhaps 'invisible barriering' the exterior from the ocean landscape, but theres probably better ways to work around this.. And, I must say the Linkable Corridoors idea sounds great! I'd like to see it now that you mention it.
