DarkeWolf
Ok, its been a long time since I did any custom mods, and back in they day, it was really simple. I'm talkin OLD stuff from Ultima Online! Anyway, I'm interested in doing some cutscene work. And I've found a couple of tutorials, but....1) this toolset really isnt all that user friendly!2) The tuts are for creating a New scene, and I'd like to start trying to edit some scenes that are already made. So here's the first issue. When I try to open a premade .cut scene, all I get is the tree files, I can't open the actual scene to make changes to the models, scenery, actions, locations, etc. How can I, or Can I, open these up so that I can start doing some of what I've read about in the tuts? Second, does anybody know how to add sound files to the game? I'd like to add some custom voice overs, but I havent got the slightlest clue what format the sound files are, what would be needed to convert them, or how to add them in once all that is done. There's more, but can't think of them at the moment, been a really long day, and I'm really tired. lol. Also, different topic, but might as well as ask here instead of starting a new thread. When making a gump, does it need to be 3d? having a mesh? or is it just a flat image, like a .jpg? I have NO experience in this area, so wondering about that. Also wondering if it's easier to work it as a drop box, or as a full on gump? Thanks in advance for any help!-DW
chibievil
you have to checkout the cutscene so u can edit but i suggest you make a backup copy incase you mess anything up, i think duplicating the file should do that. then when you finished editing your files checkin and it should be in game

Not enough experience, knowledge and skill for me to concern myself with it at this point. when I know more, I'll come back to it. Thanks tho! :) As for what I've found out, you can't actually edit a scene that somebody else has made, because the editor can't handle .cuT files. I think the ones that it uses inside the game are .cuB files. Those you can edit, if you create a copy of it in the toolcrap....er...toolset. Oh yes, rule of thumb. save often and backup often. That damned toolset uses up waaaay too much ram and tends to crash from starvation!
