epitomizer
The game works fine on my PC, and has worked in the past. Last night I decided to add some mods to the game to make things more challenging. Somewhere I I had messed up and now even after multiple reinstalls, the game will crash upon the initial load. Only thing I hear is the beginning of the Bethesda tone and then I get a critical error. I've tried it with the initial patch, I've also patched it to 1.2 with no result. I'd really love to play the game again if anyone has a solution or help I'd be happy to hear it. Thank you.
MonsterHunterMaster
Have you still mods activated?
bben46
It's a known problem after several reinstalls - the solution is to clean the windows registry. Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the articles section of the Nexushttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=
epitomizer
I've deleted all of my mods in an attempt to start over installing a few at a time making sure they work. Right now I have followed the uninstall/reinstall to the T and still my game crashes instantly. My drivers to my knowledge are up to date, and my registry clear of errors. All of my other graphically intensive games work just fine. It's really frustrating me I can't even get Oblivion v1.0 to boot up even though 24 hours ago it worked perfectly fine. bben46
The procedure has worked for thousands of people.Be sure you are using the dvd to uninstall first. This gets rid of most of the game. Then before running the registry cleaner, you MUST reboot the computer - this allows the registry to mark the entries as orphans - not belonging to any program. Then after running the cleaner reboot again, this allows windows to reorganize its registry without the game entries. IF you have another copy of the game somewhere on your computer, the registry will find it and associate those entries before deleting them. So if you have installed in a different location at any time, check that old location to see if there is anything left behind.
