Yossarian22
Hi Since a while I discover some problems by uploading files. Its no problem for files of 20-30 mb, but beyond that, it'sreally difficult to get them up. It runs for a while, but sooner or later I get the message:"The upload progress bar is currently offline." Waiting then another while I get the message:"no file was submitted" So, I wonder if this is a common problem and if there is anysolution for it... gretz Yoss
buddah
Which file? Which site? File size? and any other pertinent information would be helpful. What browser? Do you have java enabled? Time of day? Is the file available elsewhere? I can download it and see if it is an issue with the site or file page itself if you provide the links. It may be a problem here or at your end, but I would like to ensure it is not a site issue. Buddah
Yossarian22
Well, to be more accurate: I would like to upload a file of around 190 mb for this mod: Desert Theme I am using firefox 3.5, but also tested it with IE8 and I have javascript activated. And I actually try to upload it since yesterday at various times of day. It mostly gets to around 30-40% and then the upload bar isn't updated anymore.Waiting another 30-40 min without upload bar gives the message, that no file hasbeen uploaded. Well, and I dont have it available anywhere else, because I wouldn't know whereto upload it. But I will check for another page and provide you the link then. Yossarian22
Hi Buddah I managed to upload it now in parts on this site. But even with 50mb each part it still took me a few try. Personally I think this is some kind of server timeout problem. Sometimes it happens after a few mb, sometimes after more than 60mb.You never know. But the bigger your file, the higher your chance to getsuch a timeout of course. But actually this always has been an issue here, notonly for me, but for others as well (jaysus for example). anyway, now its up Gretz Yoss
buddah
I will download them recompile them and see if I can upload the file. Need to know what is going on....some do have problems, and others do not. It could be an issue with the site, your provider or something in the atm network itself (bottleneck or disruption). But I will let you know how it goes. Buddah
Yossarian22
Very kind, thanks. If this may help you, I uploaded a file of 290 mb at 4.11.09 without issues, but at this time I was changing my appartement, so i uploaded it from my old home, means a different provider. Nethertheless I still had sometimes problems with uploads previously, but nothing similar like now. Gretz Yoss
buddah
Well I downloaded, it extracted it and am recompiling in a 7z file now, will upload it and then do it again in rar format. My system is set to use 7z by default for archive creation so I do that first to save disk space (Sometimes). But will do both formats and see how it goes. I have had others with this issue, and have uploaded for them without issues. Hard to say for certain as I cannot access from your provider and cannot trace route to see if their is an issue with the virtual path or virtual connection. I work for a manor ISP in the states.....and am also certified by Microsoft, don't hate me....knowledge from any source is a good thing. When I am at work tomorrow I will check and see if there are any known issues with the ATM that may be causing the issues.
buddah
This does indeed appear to be a site issue, I tried with both files and got the same report "No file submitted", I will have Dark0ne take a look at this. Buddah
