Soul Absorb

Here's an idea for what I think would be a great mod:

 

A spell that lasts like 30 - 60 seconds (at least the length of a normal battle). If an enemy is killed while this spell is in effect, the soul would automatically be added to the magic charge of the player's equipped magic weapon.

 

This would be so much more convenient than having to constantly break the flow of a fight by going into the soulgem menu to recharge your weapon.

 

If you're using a magic weapon why not have it automatically absorb any souls you steal?

 

 

Here's what normally happens: I'm using a hammer enchanted with fire damage, drain health, and soul steal. I kill an enemy. Its soul is automatically captured. Now I have to completely break the flow of the game and go into the inventory, find the soul gem, or azura's star, click it, click on my enchanted weapon, and possibly repeat this once or twice more to fully recharge it. Annoying!

 

 

Here's what Soul Absorb should do:

 

I cast "Soul Absorb," and for the next 60 seconds, no stolen souls are stored, they go straight into the magic charge of the hammer. I don't have to pause it after every kill! Not Annoying!

I think that it sounds interesting and feasible, probably it will require OBSE, but I don't think this should be a problem. I have a project in hands for a soul eater race that was requested, once I finish it I could use some of it's code to make this one, so if you have (a lot of) patience it will end up done. If someone else wants to do it and have more free time then take it, I can't say when I could start with it.
