Machienzo Posted January 16, 2010 Share Posted January 16, 2010 The Travelling Merchants have stopped travelling. Wolfgang is stuck near Arefu. Doc Hudson outside Agathas, and I think Crow near Canterbury Commons. I've tried respawning them and making the days pass, but none work. What should I do? Would I possibly be able to figure out the problem by checking the GECK to see which mods I have, interfere with their routes? mechine Posted January 16, 2010 Share Posted January 16, 2010 The GECK main page tutorial series has a rather nice part about NPC's an Creatures, which is about how patrols get set up. I don't know what respawn actually does, but like the followers if they die, an you bring them back to life their AI gets messed up, so in part of process you reset it. That process doesn't mention respawning them. I could be that when you respawned them you created two of them, which would be kind of cool, but I wouldn't know. I'm not sure if GECK would show you if something else messed with the merchants. I kind of have a gut feeling this is the AI gone bad. If you know their Form ID's then in game all you would do is ~ PRID (Form ID)DisableEnable which should restart the AI without having to kill them (awe that's no fun) This wouldn't be linked to you recently learning about a possible WMTF or investing caps in things, would it. Or perhaps the adding of mods upon an existing save game? Any idea's on what caused it? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Machienzo Posted January 18, 2010 Author Share Posted January 18, 2010 So I did what you said for each and every merchant, and it has apparently worked. THey can be seen to visually walk away from their spots, which is a good sign. They spawn in their spots when waiting and they do change their locations now. First time though it worked for a bit but then I had Crow in front of Arefu for a day. Redid the enabling for them all again and it seems to have fixed it. Thanks so much! I tried it, and it works temporarily. After waiting for maybe 10 hours or more, the problem resets. I've checked this again in an earlier savegame, and during that time there was no apparent problem.
