Mods with "updates" and OMODs

As I'm evaluating these larger mod projects, I'm noticing many of them have "updates" to the original files.

 

I use OBMM, and I'm just curious how this works with OMODs.

 

Do you have to recreate the original OMOD?

 

Do you load the "update" as a second OMOD?

 

Is there no fast rule?

 

A quick example would be Malevolent

 

How would you install that?

Yes, you have to recreate the OMOD.

First be sure to note the location of the esp in your load order. (so you will know where the new version goes)

Then delete the omod from the omod list

If you did not keep a copy of the original download, download it again (That is why you should keep app of your original downloads in a folder somewhere outside of Oblivion.)

If it is a patch and not a complete new version, patch it before making it into an OMOD.

Create the new OMOD

Finally, after activating - it will probably be at the bottom of your esp list, move it back to the original location
