burningwreckage00
I put this in the spoilers section for obvious reasons. I have recently tried setting my own character as essential through console commands and wierd things happen. You can consult the console commands topic if you don't know that command, although it might not be listed. I'm also posting this because I have not seen a post like it yet. If there is, let me know. Through the console, you can easily set your character to become an unkillable, essential character. Sure, the gameplay is pretty much the same, but when your character gets "knocked out", the camera still sinks into the ground as if you had died. The a few seconds later, your character gets back up, but the camera is still sunk into the ground(in 1st person mode, your character will be sunk in the ground)! There is no way to fix this besides reloading a previous save. If you get "unconscious" again, the camera will sink even further. I made this post for anyone who was interested, though it's probably unlikely. Also, if you wanted to try that out for yourself, you can find out your characters base ID from CS (look for the npc PLAYER), and also set yourself essential from there. I don't very well recommend it because of the camera problems.
Pushkatu
I don't know what exactly you are talking about, but when I just need to have some fun and kill/destroy everything I open the console and type "tgm" to activate the god mode. You can't be killed or knocked down becouse you don't take any damage at all. So that bug you mentioned won't happen.

But I ussually set my character essential if I created a copy of my character that I didn't want to die. I made this topic in case people wanted to know if it was possible. I remember reading the command console section in UESP, and they said you could set anybody but the player as essential. I tried it out after finding the player's base id in CS, and typed player.kill. Message appeared at the top of the screen saying "so-and-so is unconscious", and the camera shifted downward as if you had died. They may have updated though. But yeah, god mod is better, and much less stuff to type.Oh yeah, what I would create a copy for. To cause mayhem in my place, of course. It's always interesting to me how the computer would use my with all the stuff equiped. better than going through all the trouble with the staff of corruption bug. Pushkatu
Oblivion engine is somehow quite unstable. Once your cross even by a cm the border the developers added between playable - unplayable, you'll be surprized of how many wierd things can happen. :)
