ZombieUK
I got Windows 7 Ultimate recently after my harddrive crashed, The problem is that when ever I wish to Edit or tweak with the files in the GECK, it wont let me save it. Says Access Denied, even on my previous Mods I created before my Harddrive crash! This is stopping me from creating any more Mods in the future and I really wish to resolve this ASAP. I can create new Saves/Plugin files, but I cant locate them in my Data Folder, they only show up in the Load Master/Plugin Files list. I tried to locate them in the hidden folders but the cpu says they do not exist. Whats going on here? Windows 7 is doing wonders for cpu performance, I even got 64 bit from 32, tho Dunno what that exactly means, I get its a good thing havng 64 bit. Its just not letting me make my own personal tweaks and hanges to mods. Is it something to do with Administrator Access? I cant access most files without running As Administrator, its flipping bothersome. No body else uses me cpu except me. Help anyone? E.g: When I try to save my Gary Invasion Mod it says this: MASTERFILE: Unable to complete operation due to failiure removing previous file.Plugin 'Data\Gary invasion - Hard.esp' may be locked or read only. Temp file' Data\Gary invasion - Hard.tes' Contains saved data. Context: DEFAULT"Yes to all" will disable all Warnings for this context..blah blah blah... Is the saved file in some Temp Folder in witch I cannot locate? Please help!
FadingCeiling
If you installed Fallout 3 in Program Files then that might be your problem. Windows 7 UAC isn't as annoying as in Vista but can be frustrating occasionally. You could try - though I don't recommend - turning UAC off completely and see if it helps. The main difference between 64bit and 32bit Windows OS is that 64bit supports over 3 gigs of memory (Depends on your motherboard as well).
