Jarkore
First of all, hello to everybody and a big thank you to anyone, who will even read this. I guess this problem occurrs quite often with people, becuase i scanned the internet back and forth for fixes, before giving up and trying to actually ask for help.My problem is basically this. I can go through the tutorial without problems, but when I try to exit the sewers, I always get Oblivion has stopped working message and then, a CTD.-My computer passes the recommended requirements for the game-I used Nexus mod manager to install mods-I used BOSS to set the load order-I tried WITHOUT mods-I tried on minimal graphicsNothing worked so far.I have Windows 7, 64 bit.2,93 ghz, double core gpu, 4 gigs of ram, and an NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GTI hope someone can help, thank You for reading ^^Jarkore
bben46
Does it work without Mods? Completely vanilla? Did it ever work? How to revert to Vanilla http://s1.zetaboards.com/bbenlibrary/topic/4308518/1/#new The exit from the sewer is the end of the tutorial and where the actual game starts. You really can't do much except follow the script until then anyway. There is a huge jump in what is required to run the game at that point. Most of the mods just don't do anything in the sewers because it is a tutorial. The when you exit - all of them are switched on at once possibly overloading your game. Your specs look OK.A BOSS or LOOT log would be a lot of help to people trying to help troubleshoot. What version of the game? What patches?Where is it installed? ( Path)Does it include Shivering Isles? Any other DLC?I recommend turning Shivering isles & any other DLC off until you are ready to play it. Or at least until after you have made your first permanent save after exiting the sewer. I also don't recommend using NMM to mod Oblivion - NMM is a new program, barely 2 years old. Most Oblivion mods are 5 to 8 years old and were made long before NMM. Some of them just won't work with NMM. The older OBMM ( Oblivion Mod Manager) is better for managing Oblivion mods - it is not as simple, and requires actually learning a little about how mods are structured ( very little) But it can handle just about every Oblivion Mod there is. NMM was designed to work with many games - OBMM was designed to work with Oblivion only.
Jarkore
I stated I have tried without mods. On this computer this is the first time I tried Oblivion. I tried without ANY of the DLCs. Simple Oblivion, latest UK patch (1.2.threedigitsomething). It is not installed into the protected program files folder.
Jarkore
UPDATE: I found the problem!I totally forgot I still had Francesco's leveled mod active, I unticked it in Oblivion Launcher, and I was able to get out of the sewers!Next problem: now water is pink :S
bben46
Pink water would be a missing texture problem. Just disabling the mods does NOT remove them - some texture mods do not have esp parts. My suggestion was a revert to vanilla - This been used by thousands of people over the years. It will allow you to get your Oblivion back into a 'out of the box' state with no left over bits and pieces of mods cluttering things up. For when nothing else works - my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure. http://s1.zetaboards.com/bbenlibrary/topic/4308533/1/#new This has been used for restoring completely trashed Oblivion installations since 2008
