Pretty Easy Question about Fo3 Modding?

Im about to get Fallout 3 for my PC, my first ever moddable PC game.

And im wondering, does the versions such as GOTY with all add ons

affect the working of mods?

What im asking is, can you buy any version of Fo3 and be able to use all the mods.

 

and another question, does doing the storty mode before modding affect the mods?

Whether or not you buy the GOTY edition should have no effect on your ability to use mods.

 

The vast majority of mods can be added to an existing save. If a mod requires a new game to work correctly, it should be detailed in the readme.
