Quetzlsacatanango
Without insinuating anything, where did you get your copy of FO3?
YazzBro
well whatever you're not insinuating would be the answer. Thus your time at this family of sites comes to an end. -myrmaad Edited January 21, 2010 by myrmaad

rem86
Sers, I've got a similar problem with FOSE. Won't start with a refer to my russian version (I know it isn't supported, I didn't even know I had this version with the damn starforce protection...).My FO3 is the german "Game Of The Year"-Edition, legally purchased and that's the problem: I was hoping to find any way to not coming to realize, that once I give honest purchasing a chance I'll get screwed again... Is there any way to update/change my current version without looking for a complete new version of FO3? Patching it also didn't work.
Quetzlsacatanango
FC, sorry I missed your question, it might apply to the post above as well. A memory address error is something I would expect to see if FOSE doesn't see the exe it expects. FOSE needs the original /supported .exe. Modded .exe files don't work. That's why D2D doesn't work, and maybe Steam, not sure. They mod the exe with DRM, thereby breaking FOSE. This is also why no-cd patches won't work with FOSE. I'm not sure why you would need one, but some people, even non-pirates, seem to want it for some reason. Obviously people who have pirated the game will want to crack the exe to bypass that, at least the dimmer ones, also obviously breaking FOSE compatibility. So to the question above, is the German GOTY supported by FOSE? If so, I would think it would work. If not, that's the problem. Nothing to do with legal or illegal, just a different exe from the one that FOSE supports. If it's DRMed with Starforce or anything like it, the answer is probably no, unfortunately. Mods, I tried to make this an honest discussion of FOSE and it's limitations as I understand them and if anything I think I have explained one more reason not to pirate anything. But if you feel I've said too much and somehow encouraged circumvention I understand that you gotta do what you gotta do.-Q
