I purchased fallout 3 through steam on christmas and it just simply will not cooperate with me. ive tried downloading patches, save files, drivers, updates, and loads of other things. Ive also tried uninstalling norton internet sucurity and turning off my firewall. it is driving me insane. the error message and system info are posted below. If anyone has found a solution for this, please let me know. Thank you. by the way, ive also tried turning all settings to lowest resolution and loading loose files... nothing seems to work.

(i also have the same problem with assassins creed. no problems with left 4 dead 2, farcry 2, resident evil 5 or f.e.a.r. 2)

There are some guidelines about Vista [which also apply to windows7] that might help you:

You may also want to go here and see if your computer can actually run the game:

OP, try installing to something other than the default directory (when installing, choose custom install rather than easy), if possible.

I was having a problem with it not even getting to the title slides and locking up. I defragged and installed to a different hard drive and now, I'm at least getting to the New/Load/etc screen. Dunno about beyond that though.

hiya

from what i gathered this APPCRASH, is a conflict within software.

you have installed/settings from software that comes in conflict with Fallout 3

i used to have a simulair problem with a game witch was caused by Sample Rate.

but in your cause it can be anything, unless you really get a clean OS install.
