Right I've got GOTY edition and I am wondering what the install order is for patches discs and mods. I've installed disc 1 which means I've just installed oblivion right?

I wan't OOO without slow lvl up.

I also want a nice textures upgrade. I have a 1gb hd4850 and would like something to use it's capabilities.

Atm I think the order is

patch

uop

OOO

texture upgrade

Shivering isles

SI patch

KotN

patch (Although I can't see one around)

I don't need Wyre Bash. Is this correct? I'm starting a new character. I DEMAND AN ANSWER IMMEDIATLY.

You need to install the 2nd disc of GoTY to get KoTN and SI, and also the latest patch installed (if you haven't done so already). Then install UOP, texture patches, then OOO

I have the Goty-Edition too and you first have to install CD1 (normal oblivion), then you install the 2nd disk if you want to have SI and KOTN.

After the installing, you patch SI to v.1.2.0416

IMPORTANT: Don't use the normal oblivion patch 1.2.0416 if you want to play SI, because Shivering Isles will not appear in the game (I had this problem some time ago...)!

There are two different patches!

The SI patch for SI+normal Oblivion, the normal Patch is only for Oblivion.

After you patched the game, you can activate or deactivate SI and KOTN in the Oblivion Launcher and if you want to install some mods,

unzip the mod-files and move the folders (for example meshes, textures, sounds,...) nad the .esp Data (.esm if there is one required)

into the Data folder.

(C:\Program Files (x86)\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data)

Then you can activate the mods in the oblivion launcher!

There's Qarl's Texture Pack III, which is really nice if your PC and GFX card can handle it, or you can find the reduced versions of these (Redimised iirc). There is also Bomret's Texture Pack for SI - much like QTP3 but for SI.

There are quite a few other smaller, but very nice texture packs you can download from TesNexus. The trick is not to get too carried away with adding as many mods as possible right at the beginning. Try out a few 1st, then once you're happy that your game is running smoothly, then you can add in a few more. This is especially useful if you're new to adding mods.

... and yes you can have other mods running with SI and KoTN, in fact some mods require them to be installed.
